CrzyHorse
I was wondering whether a tune is necessary for just taking of the mufflers and running the pipes out. Does it make that much of a difference and is a tune absolutely necessary? I do want to keep the car running optimally not rich or lean so I do not want to trust a canned tune but I cannot justify a dyno tune just for exhausts. Any information will be greatly appreciated and most importantly thank you everyone for your warm welcomes for me to this forum.
xyxxy
Not necessary unless you remove/change the cats. However, even on a stock car a tune can be very beneficial.
CrzyHorse
I do not plan on taking out the cats. I have done research and know that a tune can help the car out but I wont lose horsepower by just taking out the mufflers right?

The stock Ford muffler has pretty good air flow so changing to straight pipe just at the axle back doesn't seem to make much difference. Course the only way you would really know is if somebody has dynoed it that way.
ingram4868
The cats provide the back pressure for the car so removing the mufflers does not impact the tune.
twin turbo
I just ordered the new Magnaflow catted high flow x-pipe. Do you think a new tune will be required? I already have the Steeda tune for the 2.7 pulley and CAI.
