We Made the List

I just received my 4/09 Mustang Monthly. The cover story highlights the 45 Most Significant Mustangs of All Time, to go along the April 17th 45th birthday of the Mustang. :party2:

It seems like us SGT owners are usually overlooked in favor of the GT 500, KR and SS models. Not his time. We are # 31 on their list, comparing us to the GT 350 that was produced by Shelby ,pre-title, back in the 60s :happy feet: This the same comparison I always make when people realize my SGT is not a GT 500 or just a stripe job on a Mustang GT.

The only problem I have with their story is that they chose a slower white car instead of the faster black one for the photo. Oh well, at least it is smoking the tires :peelout:

Black...white...we all know the blue verts are fastest anyway...LOL

They did give you a nod in the caption to the photo. :happy feet: No mention was made of blue performance. Didn't want to hurt your feelings?? :stirpot:

but my blue vert has the s/c now, it must be faster! surely the s/c is enough to overpower the fasterness you get from the darker color?

sorry I was comparing your apple to my orange

I believe you are correct in the Shelby gt the blue is the fastest but with the GT500 I believe it has to do with the extra didgets on the side stripes and the single colour on the hood and trunk :headscratch:

Yes. Erik, could you post the whole list?

Seriously, the 2010 Mustang???? NUMBER TWO?!!!!!!!!!!!! Geez..........

Yeah, no kidding. As soon as I read that , their list lost total credibility with me.

Here's my personal favorites in chronological order:

1. First mustang in 1964.5

2. The 1965 Fastback GT (first car I ever road in)

3. 1965 G.T. 350. Proving this isn't just a "secretary's car"

4. 1966 G.T. 350. Proving not everyone really wants a real race car

5. 1968 Bullitt

6. 1968 428 CobraJet

7. SuperSnake

8. 1969 Mach1

9. 1969 Boss 302

10. 1969 Boss 429

11. 1970 Mach 1

12. 1970 Boss 302

13. 1970 Boss 429

14. 1971 Boss 351

15. 1976 Cobra II (I was a 10 year old kid...it looked cool)

16. 1982 Mustang GT...the boss is back

17. 1993 Mustang LX (last of the stripper stangs)

18. 1993 Cobra

19. 1994 Mustang GT...finally a body style that looks like a mustang.

20. 1996 Mustang GT (my first mustang)

21. 1998 Cobra finally a blue one is available

22. 2001 Bullitt

23. 2003/04 Cobra

24. 2003/04 Mach 1

25. 2005-09 Mustang GT

26. FR500 race cars

27. 2006 GT-H

28. 2007-09 GT-500

29. 2007 SGT

30. 2008 SGT (finally in my favorite color combo)

31. 2008.5 Bullitt

32. 2008 GT 500KR

DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF YOU CAN PICK THIS ISSUE OF MUSTANG MONTHLY AT YOUR

LOCAL BOARDERS BOK STORE OR MAGAZINE SHOP.

THANKS, SCOTTY

I don't know about that but here in Utah I used to buy mine at the area Wal Mart Super Centers before I subscribed. Sometimes I'd have to visit several stores before I found one. I know I've seen them there recently, too.

thanks Erik,

is it warm enough to get out and hit the curves in Parleys. I have my car schedules for SAI Vegas for my

shelby gt super charger upgrade in April. i am thinking about coming up to Draper to hang out with some buddy's of mine that teach at Snowbird.

You bet, Scotty. The snow has retreated more every day :happy feet: The canyon has been bone dry and snow free for about 2 weeks now. We have been in the 50s & 60s with 70s forecast for Saturday before a rain/snow storm on Sunday  Any snow we might get now won't last so come on up. The UHP has a few favorite spots in the canyon so if you don't have a radar detector, I can let you know where they usually :hide:

They weren`t listed in any special order.

I posted the list in the exact order the magazine did. They had the 2010 as #2. They said they chose it because the car has been in production for 45 years and the felt it was fitting to make the current edition of the Mustang #2. I don't get it, either.
