Captain Beyond
Has anyone removed their Shelby signed dash plaque? Is there alot of sticky residue left from the tape? If so, what's the best way to clean without damaging my dash? Thanks.
shel-b001
Shouldn`t be a problem as there isn`t` alot 3m on the back. Just use a good cleaner wax or wax should remove it no problem
carrera
Has anyone removed their Shelby signed dash plaque? Is there alot of sticky residue left from the tape? If so, what's the best way to clean without damaging my dash? Thanks. I had to remove mine when my car was sent to Tasca to be Super Snaked. The plaque came off quite easily using a piece of fishing line wrapped around each thump and sliding it back and forth in a sawing motion behind the plaque. Using a heat gun to soften the adhesive helps. Just go slowly and it comes off without leaving a mark

Just lift slowly, making sure the corners don't dig into the dash. http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php...st&p=584868
Captain Beyond
Thanks for all the replies. I used the spatula method, but broke it. I then used some fishing line and it also broke. That thing is stuck on there good. I'm gonna see if I can find some stronger fishing line.

Warming up the adhesive will help the fishing line cut through
shelbymustangdan
Just as a side note: When I installed mine, I went to the store and picked up some of those white foam like, double sided sticky pads (they come in circles or squares) for hanging pictures and such. I thought it would be easier to remove and less chance of damaging the underlying surface. When I saw the 3M type tape which came with the plaque, I thought it was overkill for such a light weight piece. (unlike a side scoop) Anyway, just food for thought if anyone installs (or reinstalls) one. Dan
