cbrwarrior
.. to spend on my Shelby. What should I get? I'm thinking of getting floor mats, hood lift, and the aluminum pedals (plus dead pedal). What would you get if you had $350 to spend? 6-Speed
I would save up another $150 and get the KR mufflers. Your original list looks pretty good too - I purchased those same items early on along with painted side mirrors and painted rear axle.

I'm thinking of getting floor mats, hood lift, and the aluminum pedals (plus dead pedal). What would you get if you had $350 to spend? CBRWarrior if you haven't already changed out your upper pulley, nothing like a little extra hp/tq. if you can install your own, you should be easily able to buy one, install it, and get a tune for about 350 dollars. that being said, i enjoy my shelby dash plaque, gt500 floor mats, and billet aluminum tiffany shelby shifter (just a change of shift knobs)...i find the new shifter fits great in the palm of my hand. good luck. SicShelby
I would buy the dash plaque if I was you. +1 - I would definitely get this before you can't get it anymore... I just received mine last month, and is awaiting UV protection before I throw it on the dash :-) Sequential tail lights? They're fairly cheap and add a nice appearance to the rear end (my next buy). frydguy79
depends on what all you have already done to your car? and how do you drive it??? if you have done nothing then the very first thing i would do is a set of J&M LCA's and a UCA
Sherri Leicht
I would go with the dash plaque first thing. Mr. Shelby isn't getting younger
stpracer43
Most definitely the Dash Plaque... It was the first thing I ordered for my wife's '08, even before I got it home from the dealer!
clark17357
If you are thinking of a hood lift, here is a link to one that you will really like: http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php...=redline+tuning Jim
silver08elly
Dash plaque or your air bag cover. Get that signed and use the other 90 bucks to get your pedals.
zporta
i would save up some more and get LCA's and a UCA...i made sure this was one mod done b4 i save for my extra power fund...
ilmor
Some go for more bling first, but I think better to spend on improving vehicle performance first. The first thing I would do if I had a GT500 would be to lower it.
sfm6s1675
I'd suggest following something along the lines I plan to do. You can get the dash plaque for your money. 1. Dash plaque (Done) 2. KR Mufflers (Coming soon) 3. FRPP Cold Air Induction 4. FRPP KR Shifter 5. 3.73 Gears 6. Engine dress up kit from Shelby Performance Parts 7. Sequential tail lights
Hisssss
Aftermarket shifter, you can install it yourself with little effort and then you aren’t stirring a can o soup when you shift, and a blower pulley...from there its all down hill (your checkbook balance that is)
topgun
Exhaust should always be the first Mods. There is nothing like the sound of a new stang with a high performance Borla exhaust.

FiaCobra
I'd buy an AR15 lower........but, since it's for the car, i'd opt for a CAI set up.
thewheelman
Dash plaque, as they said, CS ain't getting any younger and that's the only thing you can't get if he should "go flat" (his words to Jimmy Spencer in pre-race drive around LVMS). My esteemed $.02 worth!
Afterburner
I'd buy an AR15 lower........but, since it's for the car, i'd opt for a CAI set up. I like your thinking. The CAI you can get anytime. The lower?........it's only a matter of time and not too much either until the
Grunnsetning
I thought the trany had to be dropped or something to do a shifter?
Boston Mike
I'd buy 17 bottles of Abolut. Lots of Kool Aid to mix it with over here..... Seriously, the dash plaque is cool, but it likely is a part that has a 50/50 shot of never touching your vehicle (I have not put mine in but rather will frame it with my build certificate, an extra engine stamp from my builders, the original lug nuts from the car and the Shelby GT500 sill plates). So, my recommendation is, hang on to the cash, save some more and save up for a CAI, tune and new mufflers. You'll feel better with the result. If you just gotta spend it, then get the lowering springs from FRPP. It makes the car look better and cures the hop (despite what people say about the LCAs). With the springs, you'll still be able to get a couple of bottles of Absolut to mix with the Kool Aid.
cbrwarrior
Hi all.. Thanks for all the feedback. I've been kicking around all the different suggestions in my mind, so it's really a matter of prioritizing the mods. I did read that you have to lower the tranny to install the short throw (KR) shifter.. which I could probably do, but I'd probably want to pay someone to do it. The dealer quoted me 3 hours which seemed a little high. With the 373, I'll need to put in the LCA and UCA's, so those would have to go in first. I think if I get the pulley, might as well get the CAI along with a tune and get it done together... that's probably closer to $1000 Maybe what I'll do is get the cue ball to replace the stock shift ball, and the KR shifter, and wait until i have extra $$ and have someone install it.. -CBRwarrior

Its 150 for the install. Wich means u could afford it. 200 for the shifter, 150 for instal. Im still all about the plaque but if u think the shifter is the way to go i would do that! mikehart99
I did the dash plaque first when the care came because I wanted the car blessed by the big guy. Second FRPP 5230 sgt Borlas for the right look and sound. Now I am looking at the signed mats and some interior bling. Oh and for 20 bucks I moved the Shelby letters to the center,,,,,sweet,,,a must do! Mikehart

5.4 Shelby
I put my own shifter in. I did not have to drop the tranny. You do have to unhook and lower the front end of the drive shaft. No too hard, esp if you have help. My first mod was an axle back. Did that the night I brought her home. Then the shifter (also money well spent), then brake pads. The stock ones shed way too much dust. A good friend gave me a JLT CAI, but I have not put it in. I am waiting to get the tranny fixed first. I already had Carroll's autograph on a pic of the car as you can see in my Avatar.
