raptor5546
Hi, I want to powder coat my cam covers on my Shelby GT ford blue. What is the actual color called? A local shop will coat them for about $120. I could buy replacement ones but I have at least a month here in MN before I can take it out of storage. I accidently posted in the GT500 forum also. HORSBYT
Just buy them from Brother's Performance or Steeda. They're already powder coated.

TClark1976
Blue looks like $1.0M under the hood like that!! I was looking at making that change also! But I didn't want to copy everyone else who has done this already. I was looking at the either the Whipple or the Kenne Bell but in BLACK. . . . . . And so I was going to go with BLACK powder coated covers. I sorta thought it would look cleaner that way under the hood. But I'm looking at those you've got there in blue and it just looks awesome !!! Trevor
kahmann
Here's an up close shot of one of my blue cam covers. I love the look in my car, but I think the black would look great with the black S/C. Ken
07SGT4578
I will be having me some of them blue cam covers, to go with the Black Whipple as soon as the supercharger fund lets me. Trevor, just order the covers who cares who else has done it, they look bad ass and should have been there from the get go. raptor5546
Thanks for the responses, I think I will just order new ones. I found some used cam covers on craigslist for $100 and thought I would save some money by having them powder coated locally but with the cost of the used covers and powder coating I might as well spend another $50 and just buy them. I dont mean to copy others but I sure like the look of the blue ones. How much will new gaskets cost? How big of a project is it to change them out? thanks

kahmann
originality around here is a fine line........ Thank GOD there's really so few of us! LOL I like that. It's really very true. I don't mind pulling ideas from almost anyone on this site. I've seen very few cars on TS that I don't like. Almost all of my own mods were thought up by someone else. My combination, however, is still pretty unique, I think. I wouldn't worry about 'copying' anyone, especially here. Ken
Shelby N.Y.
Hey guys, i am kind of in the same boat here with the cam covers, I am going to get the polished whipple and I was going to go with the polished cover, but now I am not sure, ik know I don't want the plain silver so it's a toss up between the "chrome" the blue or black. I have a white 07 SGT, give me some opinions boys.
kahmann
IMO, that chrome S/C will be all the chrome you'll ever need under your hood. I'm not saying I'm not a fan of it, I think they look awesome. However, (just my own opinion here) I think that the chrome covers next to the huge chrome Whipple will be too much for the average eye. Go with the Ford blue covers and enjoy the extra compliments. Ken
Dig-It
Hey guys, i am kind of in the same boat here with the cam covers, I am going to get the polished whipple and I was going to go with the polished cover, but now I am not sure, ik know I don't want the plain silver so it's a toss up between the "chrome" the blue or black. I have a white 07 SGT, give me some opinions boys. It's a Kenne Bell, not a Whipple and a blue '08, not a white '07 - but here's a polished supercharger with chrome cam covers:
Shelby N.Y.
It's a Kenne Bell, not a Whipple and a blue '08, not a white '07 - but here's a polished supercharger with chrome cam covers: Dig it thanks for the pics, I like the chrome it looks really good, I think it will be between that and the blue, I have to make up my mind by tomorrow morning.
