m81mclaren
A question just popped into my head and could use some feedback. If my new clutch were to fail @ 1,500 miles and say within 1 year after the TSB, how would that be treated? Does my original warranty rule? I assume that they would want to tear into it to guess why it failed. Would they treat this as part of my standard 3/36 "bumper to bumper"? Is there a specific warranty on a repair like this that supercedes my standard warranty? Do I get a reset on the clutch disk for 12 months? ingram4868
That is a good "Q". On other cars when a warranty covered item fails and fails again it is still covered. But the clutch might be a tricky item.
gsharapa
CLUTCH LINING (Disc) Replacement of clutch lining due to normal wear and tear (disc) is a maintenance service and is not reimbursable, except for 2001-2003 Lincoln vehicles which have coverage for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. If, however, the lining wear-out is due to a factory defect in material or workmanship, the clutch lining is reimbursable during the Bumper-to-Bumper coverage. The claim should be annotated with the specific defect.
