I'm soo close to pulling the trigger for an SC upgrade

Recommended Posts

I just need the stock market to stay steady, or at least not plumet, for the next 15 trading days. Then I need the following to occur:

1. An appointment with Quantum Performance to coincide with my quality conference in Houston.

2. Fair weather for the 2300 mile round trip..at least no severe weather while traveling thru tornado alley.

Yes, I may just need the stars to align..being this far north sux sometimes. I hate to drive but, really have no other option. So, here's to hoping it all works out!!!

Maybe it was in another thread that I missed but what brand S/C are you going to have installed?

Jim

It will be the Whipple in black, the center gauges the CS grille and new Berg gas cap. I like the KB but, that !@#$ stock market keeps losing all my MONEY!!!! LOL

Go and do it. The stock market will come back. It's just cash, maybe lots of it, but still just money. It's the best thing you can do for yourself, car wise.

Horsbyt - I must have missed you getting yours done but WOW does it look great. Do you have a thread with more picts of your mods? The blue crossover and valvecovers are very sweet. The wheels and everything just look fantastic.

Are you doing a Whipple 400 then? Wondering b/c the KB is cheaper than the Whipple 500 or 550...

Pull the trigger--I did it on Monday and man nothing will make you happier on this car!

Thanks for the post. I guess I must have missed that post. Anyway, looks great and just another choice that we have to upgrade our cars. If you don't want the 500hp or 550hp you can go with the 400hp and be perfectly happy with that choice. Nice numbers and a great setup.

WMoore, go for it man. There are so many choices that suit all your desires.

To be honest, I don't know. I called QP and asked the price on the Whipple. When and if the money comes thru I will ask the question. Thank You for bringing this to my attention!!!

Shelby/Kenne Bell Super Charger (Black) 8,000.00

Paxton Super Charger(Satin) 6,195.00

Paxton Super Charger(Polished) 6,395.00

Ford Racing/Whipple Supercharger 500/550 8,895.00

Gauge pod $ 1080

CS 6 Grille $ 825

I guess the CS6 grille is a NO GO :banghead: It seems the company that made the mesh grille has closed it's doors. SAI is trying to find a replacement company but, the one exterior upgrade I wanted will have to wait. However, everything else is on schedule for 30 Mar 09!!! :happy feet: With any luck I'll be driving a GT/SC by 3 Apr 09 :peelout: THanx to Chip's research I'm no longer worried about the 550.. :yahoo:

Well, we were able to dodge the flood and the blizzard last week and droped the car off at QP Monday morning. Mike gave us a tour of the facility and all I can say is :baby: The wife and I are headed back to Dallas this morning to watch Mike tune the car on the dyno and I feel like a kid waiting on Santa Clause to come...LOL :play:

I bought a complete stage 3 for my GT500, the tune was wrong the customer service sucks from KB, after taking the car to a Shelby recommended place they got it running. The entire time KB kept emailing that the tune was NOT the problem, then admitted it was, I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND KENNE BELL. But Shelby in Vegas is GREAT.

Has anyone with the FRPP blower noticed any difference in handling without the strut-tower brace? Do you know if they are working on a replacement in Vegas?

Chip Beck told me the other day that he had spoken with Ford rep (engineer or professional driver...can't remember) and he could tell no difference driving with and without the strut tower.

I still want to keep mine. I read in another thread that either Ford or Shelby was working on a strut tower. Sorry my memory is not any better on this but maybe some one else with a better memory can chime in.

The Strut tower brace from the "Bullet" will fit, even the edlebrock supercharger..

The price quote from tasca is kinda high, but then I do all my own stuff, got the whole guage package from CS and did the install in a few hours, cost = $550, my time, looks good!

I am a supporter of anyone who can do things themselves unless you go directly to CS.. Too much shoddy work out there..

.02 cents worth...
