COBRA SCOTTY
HEY GUYS, JUST GOT MY NEW 08SGT0123 AND WANT MORE POWER. BESIDES ADDING A SUPER CHARGER WHAT MODS CAN GIVE ME MORE HORSE POWER. I HAVE ALREADY THOUGH OF UNDER DRIVE PULLEYS FROM STEEDA , BUT I WILL EVENTUALLY BE SUPER CHARGING THE CAR WHEN SHELBY CALLS ME IN. SO IN THE SHORT TERM PULLEYS WOULD BE A WASTE OF MONEY I WOULD LIKE TO ADD A BETTER INTAKE TUBE THAN THE STOCK ONE WHICH LOOKS VERY RESTRICTIVE. I SAW A GOOD ONE THAT STEEDA MAKES. I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO DO HEADERS AND A X-PIPE WITH 3 INCH CAT-BACK EXHAUST. HOW MUCH R.W.H.P. CAN I EXPECT FROM HEADERS , INTAKE TUBE AND A 3 INCH CAT-BACK AND NEW TUNE. DOES ANYBODY HAVE SOME REAL WORLD HORSE POWER NUMBERS AND THE PRODUCT NAMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH HEADERS X-PIPE, 3" CATBACK AND A TUNE. THANKS, SCOTTY
kahmann
The Steeda intake tube is nothing but a cosmetic modification. You will see no HP gains. Again, your SGT has an x-pipe already. I'm not sure of the HP gains of changing that x-pipe to a 3" setup. Long tubes will yield you the highest gains of anything you've listed. What about smog? THANKS, SCOTTY I'm not sure how much the hp gains will be on a N/A setup with longtubes but they are something you can do now that will definitely help when you add the sc. You and I have similar setups. Instead of long tubes, I have JBA shortys. I have the stock x-pipe and FRPP axle backs. Under drive pullies and motion charge plates have yet to be installed. I also have the Comp XFI VSR (stage 2) cams/springs. Lastly, a custom tune with SCT Livewire and FRPP 4:10's. I'm pulling 337 RWHP. So I think that ought to illustrate pretty well how little of a difference an aftermarket x-pipe makes compared to the stock SGT x-pipe. Good luck.
