Obamas' take from the rich, give to the poor tax hike

Recommended Posts

I have a GREAT idea......To all those earning $250K and UP......... Take your Income, subtract $249K from it and send me the Rest. Then after MY income reaches $250K or higher, I will do the Same, Subtract $249K and send the Rest to another TS Member, and so on and so on and so on until we are all earning $249K ..............................

To all those "RICH" people(BTW, do you feel "rich" if you and your wife bring home more than 250K a year?) Where were you gonna spend that extra money if Obama didn't take it out of your pocket?

First of all couples making more than $250K are NOT "rich' they are however "well off". Those couples reporting adjusted gross income of more than $250,000 to the IRS make up 2 percent of households. I'd say that's a pretty exclusive group!

The President is not increasing taxes. He is allowing the 2005 temporary Bush tax breaks to expire. This exclusive group got a tax break the past three years, and as planned, this break is now expiring the year after next. Again this happens the YEAR AFTER NEXT. Not this year, or next year, the following year. So the idea that business won't hire is silly given there is no impact for at least 24 months and honestly given the current state of the economy it doesn't look as though giving that group a tax break did us any good or saved many jobs anyway.

Now, what has gone pretty much unreported is the President made permanent the Bush tax cuts of 2001 and 2002 which were also due to expire, but that's not as much fun for the right wing bloggers to point out.

Actually the "redistribution" happened in 2005 when this 2% of the population got a tax break. These are the same people that invested in crazy schemes and run the banks that have now taken our money to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars. THAT is the largest redistribution of wealth ever seen. You and I bailed out these fat cats while they walked away with millions. We saved the upper income group that has seen their investments fall.

I'm more $@!# off about that than the person laid off from these companies getting 13 additional weeks of coverage. If you don't agree what can I say...we all have an opinion and viewpoint.

All I can say is we've had polices the past 8 years that are 180 from Obama...didn't seem to do much good in my opinion...I'll take a chance.

Actually you have that last statement backwards. All during the campaign and into the beginning of the presidency, all the left wing just kept yapping about was how the Bush tax cuts were only for the rich and the middle class got shafted. Now the last AP report squeezed in how Barry is going to let the tax cuts for the wealthy expire and the "Bush" tax cuts for the middle class would continue. Please. This guy has certainly met the stereotype of tax and spend liberal and all in just four weeks.

Yeah, but I would still have to report my total income and then get screwed twice over!! :headscratch:

Anyway, as for where I would have spent my money...it really doesn't matter but I would have spent it somewhere!! The problem with this whole Obama steal from the "rich" and give to the poor thing is that I, for example, already give a good share of my income to charities, etc., by my OWN CHOICE. So, if he's going to just take it from me and give to groups of HIS choice, who I would probably not choose, then I get hosed yet again because now I'm being forced to either give NOT of my free will and choice and probably to liberal groups of his choosing or groups of people who are irresponsible and don't really need the money.

You all forget...

Bush gave the "well off" and "filthy rich" wall street elite billions in tax cuts when he took office.

You know who paid for it?

Nobody!

The "tax savings" Bush gave eveyone were deferred to future generations. The Chinese are financing half of it!

He sdded a 5 Trillion dollar debt legacy...before the stimulus.

The average American IS worse off financially that when he took over.

The gap between the rich and the poor in America is the greatest since 1928.

There will be some rebalancing for certain, back to something that makes more sense.

The country couldn't afford the Bush tax cuts when he took office and it can't afford them now and in the future.

It reminds me of those idiots who spend more than they make, charge up their credit cards...... and every year they refinance their mortgage to clear out their cards and start all over again. The only one who wins are the banks....woops! even they cant afford to do that forever. Sooner or later someone pays for stupid financial decisions.

How should the government spend your tax dollars? There are as many good arguments out there as there are bad ones. But what is certain.....Bush gave back money to the wealthy....the treasury never had in the first place. The money has been spent, the banks and economy are broke and now its time to spend more money the treasury doesnt have to try and prime the pump. There are no options at this point....what a mess.

I've never figured out why "tax cuts for the rich" or anybody else pisses off the liberals so much. When the government cuts your taxes it is not a gift. They are not "giving" you anything. They have just decided not to steal as much of your money as they usually do. The money I earn is MINE. Every dollar I'm taxed is STOLEN money since I do not give it voluntarily. Liberals seem to think the money they earn is the governments and that they should be thankful for what the government allows them to keep.

You being from California agreeing with svttim makes no sense to me. California being one of the highest taxed and most repressive( personally I think Ca should secede from the union and do us all a favor) states is bankrupt and why? You tell me. If I say it's because of all the restrictions and taxes on business and individuals, all the feel good liberal programs that help out the less fortunate, the education and health care given to the millions of illegal immigrants, refusing to do off shore drilling cause it will ruin our pristine shoreline and might affect some endangered river rat, then you'll tell me I have no idea what I'm talking about so tell me why Ca is probably in the worst shape of any state in the country? BTW, I fall into the 250K+ category and not by much over that. So SVTTIM, tell me how Bush let me get away with billions? I paid over 100K to the feds last year. Wow, I got away with murder thanks to Bush but not anymore now that Hussein is in charge. You want to raise taxes? Fine, raise em on everyone. No you just want to pick on the ones who have made some financial success because 35% taken off the top just ain't enough.

Arnold's about as Republican as Bloomburg is(was). A true conservative or Republican for that matter would have a hard time ever being governer in CA. Especially in this new era of big government big social programs and the general castration of the U.S. that will be taking place as the next four years of this administration spends apologizing to the rest of the world for our "evil ways".

SVTTIM, sorry for the mistake.
