skuhtz
Car- 2008 Shelby GT Question- I need to have the differntial rebuilt. I took my car to the dealer to ask for the rebuild kit that is supposed to have carbon fiber clutch as to the paper clutch it came with. I think the carbon fiber clutch is standard for the rebuild. I am basically trying to get a part number for the kit. Does anyone know this? The number that I have for a 07 is Part # 3L1Z-4947-BE. Thanks, Steve

Thanks, Steve I know this does not answer your question but you may want to consider repalcing the stock differential with an Eaton Posi. The Eaton's are much more durable and by the time you buy the replacement differential clutch plates and pay for the re-build labor it may not be a big difference. There are a lot of places that sell them for 05-09 Mustangs, here's one: Eaton Posi

Thanks, Steve I think these may be what you're looking for: this is the 8.8 rebuild kit and this is the 8.8 carbon fiber (upgraded) clutch pack (same as usedon the GT500). Alternatively, CudaFly's suggestion is a good one, imo. Dan
