skeet
I sent an email to Ford stating that I am concerned that flywheel/clutch problem may be a saftey issue. This is the reply that I got. Thank you for contacting the Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center inquiring about the flywheel concern on the 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 vehicles. Ford Motor Company proactively monitors the performance of our products through dealership and customer feedback. If a concern is noted, a recall is conducted to remedy a safety or emissions concern in the interest of customer satisfaction and environmental responsibility. Field Service Actions or recalls are released to ensure the appropriate corrections are performed promptly by an authorized F/L/M dealer. Ford and the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) work together to proactively identify areas of concern through investigation of consumer and dealer feedback. During an investigation Ford cooperates fully with NHTSA. Ford does not speculate on the outcome of any current investigation or future actions. Due to our rigorous safety standards and constant testing, not all issues result in Field Service Actions or Customer Satisfaction Programs. If a program is announced on a specific component, Ford will notify you by mail. For more information on Ford Motor Company recalls or concerns you may be having with your vehicle, please contact your dealership directly. DDT
Sadly something bad will have to happen causing injury for this to be a safety recall??????????
Shelby355XL
Hell yes it's a safety issue!! My GT500 gave out at highway speeds @ 70mph on HW 59 in Houston. Had to pull over to the side of the road dead in the water with cars whizzing past. I sure as sXXt felt it was a safety issue at the time. Can't believe a recall hasn't been made...but given Ford's financial situation, it's not surprising. Too bad they are tarnishing the Shelby name with this TSB nonsense. Supercharger
Reading btwn the lines, they are saying that if they get pressure from NHTSA, they will do a recall. So the best bet may be to mount a letter writing campaign to NHTSA, not Ford.

I'd like to understand what symptoms you were experiencing.
