JeffIsHereToo
Every day President Barack Obama is handed a special purple folder. The folder contains ten letters, and every day President Obama takes time to read them. These letters have been culled from the thousands the White House Correspondence Office receives each day from Americans who have taken the time to sit down and write. The article says no president has done this since...they don't know when! http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/20...-president.html I'm sure you guys will find fault in this too...but hey! stump_breaker
10 letters a day. I'm assuming 6 days a week. "And a handful, usually no more than five a week, are from people who have a simple supportive message or inspirational story to tell." I am assuming he is doing this the keep in touch with the American people (based on 10 letters a day?) but I would be weary of 95% of them always being negative. Assuming he is a man who cares for the public, that will greatly sway his decisions since he seems to feel the need to be a savior.
ngnear
I am sure that the letters are prescreened before he reads them. Hand selected Just because someone made a statement that this has not been done since they dont know when does not mean that it is an accurate statement. (You can say anything you want.) This does not prove anything one way or the other.

ilmor
That's great that he can read and all but these are more than likely pre-screened, pre-selected letters, selected solely by his staff, probably written by more people who made irresponsible decisions in their lives and now looking for handouts for the "rich" to be taxed more heavily to make up for those decisions...etc...etc...because, as we all now know, life must be risk-free and lived without any consequences.... David Hawkins
Maybe it would matter if he was handed the Letters still Sealed in the original Envelopes instead of aleady being Read by a Staff Member who decides which Leter gets Read. I would have to guess that all of the Negative Letters are read by the Secret service Guys and Obama only gets the Nice Loving Letters, which is why I would hazard a guess that 10 is all they can Find for him to Read in any given day....................... turnsignaldelete
As we listen to Obama's speech tonight, consider the following; Sam Webb is the national chair of the Communist Party USA. In the last two years, Webb has traveled to China, United Kingdom, Vietnam, and Cuba where he met with Communist and Socialist leaders and he represented the Communist Party USA at the Athens, Greece, meeting of world Communist Parties. Recent speech and statements; "President Obama, is working to nationalize the U.S. economy", said Sam Webb. "President Obama is beginning, the 'Peoples Change', by Nationalizing, the U.S. financial system ,the Federal Reserve Bank, private industries, such as energy and other private sectors". "These business's must be Nationalized, because their future is "problematic" in private hands", claims the leader of the Communist Party of the USA. in a major speech focused on Obama titled, "Off and running: Opportunity of a lifetime," CPUSA leader Sam Webb also stated that "President Obama's administration will and must turn education, childcare, and health care into "no profit zones;" rerouting investment capital from military infrastructure to "green economy" projects and public infrastructure; and waging a "full scale" assault on global warming." "We now have not simply a friend, but a 'people's advocate' in the White House," declared Sam Webb at a recent speech in Ohio for People's Weekly World Communist newspaper. He appalled, "President Obama and his plans for a complete, Democratic public takeover of the energy complex as well as a readiness and strong willingness, to takeover other basic industries whose future is problematic in private hands". "Turning education, child care, and health care into "no profit" zones". "Rerouting investment capital from unproductive investment (military, finance and so forth) to productive investment in a green economy and public infrastructure." Webb applauded "Obama's, $800-plus billion stimulus package as "a good bill that will begin the process of Nationalizing the Private sector". Communist Party, leader Sam Webb, explained that labor unions, (which he said were instrumental in Obama's election), must work hard, to keep the White House in check by "exercising an enormous influence on the political process". Sam Webb concluded by stating, "that never before in American history, has a coalition, like the Obama administration, with such breadth and influence, walked on the political stage of our country," "Our time has come". svttim
+1 We all feel that way. But we also must realize that freedom will never be free. There are too many people out there that are will to take our freedom away. And as someone pointed out here, some from within the boarders. As long as the second amendment is alive and well, communism has no chance oftaking a real root in America
