Lowering engine to fit Strut Bracing

Buying a car that is engineered with a strut brace stock tells me its there for a reason.

Having the SS package installed and then not the bracing, especially when the car is outfitted to handle even

better and brake faster, should be there.

I would like to install the lowering kit from Evolution, but would like to hear from anyone who has installed

it and drives the car on the roads in town and on the highway. Due to the fact that the SS package lowers your car

already, does this kit lower it more? Talked e-mails with Dennis at Tasca and he said that they have done lots of cars

with this kit with no problems. Sure would like to hear from some car owners that have had this kit installed and how

they feel? Seriously would like to do this kit to enable the strut brace. Would also like to know which parts are needed?

Thanks, Randal.

I have the engine lowering kit on my car.. I have the 3.4 Whipple and wanted it to fit under the stock hood. There is absolutely no difference in stock vs. w/the lowering kit. I have gone plenty fast around corners and have noticed nothing different at all. There are a lot of guys out there that run this kit on their car and have had no problems with this kit whatsoever. The kit does not lower your car what it actually does is lower the engine it also comes with the radiator lowering supports. You will also have to buy the lowered motor mounts (1/4") which will actually allow the strut bar to be placed under the hood. You can also contact Joe @ JDM engeering which are the actual guys who first started the lowering kit. Hope that helps..

Thanks for the info.

You do not need to install the full lowering kit that is needed to install a 3.4 Whipple in order for the Kenne Bell 2.8 to fit under the stock strut bar - just the modified prothane engine mounts - with the shorter mounts and a couple of spacers that you can get from JLT, the strut bar clears the KB supercharger -

While others have indicated differently, I do think there is some additional vibration afterwards due to the more solid mounts than the huge pillows that come stock - not bad, just different

I couldn't have said it better. Now if we can only have someone come up with a brace that would work WITHOUT having to lower anything. Take care M'nut
