Aussie Snake
Hey Guys I took the Snake to philip island race track last weekend. Awesome fun. Craig Dean from Mustang Motorsport gave me some intensive driver training (very needed haha). It was a sprint series, so about 20-25 cars on track and you are only competing against your own best times. We were doing about 135 miles per hour on the front straight, the corners were more fun haha. I was racing with the 20 inch alcoas, you dont want to know how badly i have ruined the tires already haha. I am waiting on the new Griggs 4x4 brakes which are being installed in about two weeks before i can put on my Jongbloed track wheels from Griggs. I am sure track performance will be better again. Tell me why is there always an open tool box when you pull into the garage on the track just placed so that you will scratch the door when you open it Grrrrrrrr bugger. On the way down to the track, there was an awesome sunrise. As many of you know we have had some terrible fires here last few weeks, and there is a smaoky haze around the city. We took a couple of shots of the car that you may like. Loving driving my car !!! Its nice to race it on the track and drive her as she was meant to be driven !!! Torch40
Looks great. Getting these cars on the track is amazing. Were you the only Shelby on track?
Aussie Snake
Were you the only Shelby on track? Hi Andy....Mate there only a handful of shelby's in Melbourne, let alone Australia haha. The probability of finding another 2005+ mustang let alone a Shelby on any track in Australia is about 0.02 % haha. Its great to be different. Correct me if in wrong, but i think there is still only two Super Snakes in Australia. And only one on the road/track at the moment. I would love to catch up with any other owners. Cheers. Looks like a lot of fun! What suspension set up are you running? Is this your first time on the track or have you been doing this for a long time? My car is currently at Tasca getting snaked and am curious to know how the SS stacks up against cars like the porsche I saw in one of the pics. GR40Freak
Put.. the.. other.. wheels.. and.. tires.. on.. NOW!! It will accelerate faster, stop faster and corner WAAAAAYYY faster. You'll trash the 20" tires on the track. The difference will be NIGHT and DAY. Remember to use the spacers on the front to clear the calipers. I think your 4on4 system should be there this week. Aussie Snake
I think your 4on4 system should be there this week. Hey there Colin, The Griggs brakes are booked in to be installed by Mustang Motorsport on the 9th of March. We will put on the Jongbloeds that week, i have a Mustang Drag Race competition on the 14th of March, and another Track Day on the 28th of March. So will let you know. The car sounded awesome on track, and it felt amazing on the corners. Im LOVING the setup. Im sure Craig will get the spacers on, can you send him an email just in case !!! Looks like a lot of fun! What suspension set up are you running? Mate as you can probably tell by my details below, i have switched to a complete Griggs racing suspension plus Griggs watts link....Great stuff !!! The standard SS suspension is still very good, but the Griggs takes the car to a different level. Shelby Style, Kenne Bell S/c, and Griggs Suspension. Match made in Heaven haha.
