Larry Miller, owner of the Utah Jazz, and a true Cobra enthusiast, passed away today.

It was between the Gunbarrell Shelby American Collection and Miller Motor Sports that I got "Jazzed" about Cobras again and that culminated in January when CSX4005LA found a spot in my garage.

Now we will be going to Salt Lake this summer to see the other half of the Shelby American Collection.

RIP.

Wow,

His last year was a real struggle and alot of pain. He was not very old either.

I will say a prayer for his wife and kids.

It was between the Gunbarrell collection and Larry's other half that got me re-invigorated to have a Cobra. Look at this and say you don't drool:

The two sites move cars between them (notably the best Daytona Coupe that exists). I've not been to Salt Lake but it was on our summer tour trip plans (an extra day in Salt Lake on the way to Vegas).

One of his cars. Zoom in on the placard. These cars win.

The funeral for Larry H. Miller was held last Saturday at the basketball arena in Salt Lake, to accomodate all the attendees. There was quite a mix of well wishers. State Senators & Congressmen, the NBA Commissioner, NBA coaches, the Utah Jazz team, NBA players, ex players like Stockton & Malone, the President of the Mormon Church and so on.

We know of his passion for Cobras, GT-40s and Shelbys. His coffin was "Cobra" blue with white Le Mans stripes and the Cobra logo on it. The funeral procession to the cemetary had a large police motorcyle escort followed by his family members, each one driving one of his Cobras. No limos here. What a way to honor and say good bye to a true Shelby lover : :shift:

There were pictures over at ClubCobra.com of the casket and the Cobra procession after the service and at the cemetery. I agree it was a fitting tribute.

I think he also founded Miller Motorsports Park. :shift:
