SGT Front End Mask

Recommended Posts

We just finished installing our front end mask, and was wondering if anybody else has installed this same one. It came from SPP, part number BRA-SGT-2. After putting each peice in the dryer for a few minutes to get it softer, and some streching and pulling, heat it with a hair dryer, some more streching and pulling, its on. It really does look good.

Now the problem; there is a fender clip that seems to be in the wrong place. It is supposed to clip around the edge of the bumper cover right in front of the tires. The problem is where the clip is, at that same location is where the bumper cover and the metal fender meet. It simply will not clip on there. I have tried lower, but it comes off when you strect it up to clip on top of the fender. I tried to clip it on above this point, but the material will not strech that far. The only thing I can think of doing is remove the clip. I have yet to drive with the cover on, and I am affraid the loose clip will vibrate in the wind.

Let me know what you think.

Just a guess, but I believe you need to stretch it some more - I think that half-round plastic piece needs to go over the edge of the wheel well and clip over the exposed edge of the metal, between the mud guard and the fender, just like the top one.

Then, maybe snap the metal clip around the plastic bolt that's holding the mud guard to the underside of the fender, from the pics, it looks like it might reach.

Park it in the sun for a bit, (if you can find any), that will help!

I have had it on for a couple of days now, so I will strech it out tomorrow again. I have had a few bras over the years for various vehicles, and as long as you don't leave it on forever, and take care of the paint under it, it is a wonderful tool.
