diamondback
Hypathetically, if you had a non-forged rim that weighed 100lbs, how much weight savings would you get from the same rim if it was forged?

I found this interesting article on Wheel Weight -vs- Torque http://www.acuraworld.com/forums/f27/addit...s-torque-83234/

Forged in my experience means that it is stronger, but not always lighter. A forged steel crank can weigh twice as much as a stock crank weighs but is much stronger. Cast wheels can be very light, but not good for performance sometimes as they are not as strong. The wheels I bought for the GT500 (Steeda) were 7 lbs lighter than the stock wheels. Design, number of spokes etc determine the weight, not necessarily the method of manufacture. FP
