The Obama Presidency - Here Comes Socialism

Recommended Posts

Ilmor, you know as well as I, our views are very much the same. My business partner is a Dem and a avid supporter of Barry. Which causes some pretty heated debates at times. I enjoy hearing others views, even if they are not the same as mine. However, the blatent disrespect of calling someone a racist, is uncalled for and should not be tollerated here. Sorry for the rant, but that really upsets me.

Chris

I didn't know you business partner knew me. Sorry if I have been a source of contention between you two but I have been told I can do that.

:redcard: Whoa, buddy. These threads are rife with racism. Just a couple posts back in this letter of divorce we have it again. As I mentioned earlier - it may not be as blatant anymore. It's more subtle. It's passive-aggressive. We have closet racists.

I suggest you read the forum's Terms of Service ASAP.

I enjoy a good rough and tumble debate as much as anyone but you are very close to crossing a line. If you see a racist remark report it and it will be dealt with otherwise I would strongly recommend you not take it upon yourself to interpret the motivation of other members.

Sadly, it is not. There is still the Klan, the American Nazi Party, The Aryan Nation, Southern Brethern, skin-heads, neo-nazi's and many more. The world is full of hatred.

Its still rampant on both sides unfortunately. When we learn to treat people like people and not try to put them in a group or catagory, we will have gone a long way. Untill then we do the best we can

Let's call it passive-aggressive racism and denial. Anyone who continues to explain away what the real reasons were for the Civil War is of that ilk. You may be factually correct on some points, but it's irrelevant. In the end, the war was a rebuke of the South and it's way of life that was built on the backs of slaves. Lincoln himself was a recovering racist - though he changed and answered to a higher calling. He saw what was wrong and was determined to right it. The steps he took were what was available to him. They were a means to an end. Pick apart here and there and you miss the point of the end result. Just read again the Gettysburg Address or the Emancipation Proclamation. Pretty radical stuff for the time.

I see racist people!
