The trusted media. The only real partisan media is Faux News, etc. I just can't believe what you guys hear and you think of yourselves as informed. You couldn't be more misguided and misinformed. These news outlets have their heads so far up Obamas A** that they can see daylight. Especially durring the campaign. They sure seemed to "choose" to ignor alot of Obama stuff. Sorry that you disagree and that you've resorted to name-calling, but my belief is that this is a blunder on Obama's part, for reasons as stated in this and other articles. Furthermore, I don't think that Obama should be including Muslim terrorists as part of the group of overall friendly and diplomatic Muslim people. I will only say that the totality of the article goes to the basic issue of misunderstanding about how we see the world and how Muslim countries see the world and our role in world affairs. While I have great sympathy for his views, and share his frustration in how the US is viewed, his listing of specific deeds as if the relationship is made of some western rational calculus is specifically why we have a dysfunctional relationship. As long as we continue to imprint western values on Muslim countries we'll have challenges. I personally have serious issues with the Muslim faith, the cartoon protests he speaks to for example, but I understand (or think I do) that there is a fundamental difference in the way the US and a Muslim country see's the world. As long as I try to rationalize what they do or don't do though my lens of what is right and wrong I will be frustrated. I don't know how we get past or around that but I suspect it's not more of what we've had over the last seven years and that foundation I think was laid by the the President in his speech in symbolically with the first interview of his administration. But he only did it from high altitude and we did not have boots on the ground. Lets not forget that Reagan also went to war for the Muslims and tried to have a peace keeping force in Lebanon until the Marine barracks were bombed. And we assisted the mujahadeen in Afghanistan giving them stinger missiles which turned the tide of the war and allowed the Muslims to defeat Russia. No good deed goes unpunished!
