Does the GT500 Have Dual Fuel Tanks?

I drove out to visit with my dad this past weekend. He hadn't had a chance to see the new ride yet. He knows a fair amount about cars having retired from GM after 35 years where he worked as a mechanical engineer and having put in a little time in the garage over the years fixing, rebuilding, and restoring cars. I confess that I am not a gearhead, but when we put the car on jack stands and got under it, we both thought that there might actually be two fuel tanks. One on the left and one on the right - connected by what looked like a black fuel line.

Can anyone here confirm or refute this observation? :sos:

I'm just wondering, and I know there are some folks on this site who can weigh in with authority. :shift:

Bring it :-)

I just checked - Yup, thems is dual tanks. Just like a pick-up. Now, where did they hide the switch?

No, really. It's true.

Oh, alright...

It is just one tank. It's built sorta like a motorcycle tank. There are two main storage areas and a thin area between the two. The left side gets the fuel first while the right side vents vapors. Once the left is full, the fuel spills across the top into the right side until its full.

At 6'5" and 275lbs, I guess I should be able to "weigh in with authority."

Now before we go any further, why do you guys seem to dislike this photo? I was actually posting a response on StangsUnleashed when my wife took this picture of me, so I would think you should cut me some slack. :hysterical:

BTW, I got my 0 - 60 time under 30 seconds in my GT500 just the other day!

My God! What has happened to you all. Fat Guy and Gal fetishes, thongs, puke and vomit? Miata hate?

Is the wait or just drugs, alcohol and ribs? :tequila:

Back away from the keyboard. Get ahold of yourself, sober up and take a cold shower. Today is Sunday, maybe a little church would be in order for some of you. You heathens are on your own.
