jcain
I’m going to make this short and sweet as I’m very P155ED off at the moment. Could you imagine sitting down ordering your New Black w/Charcoal 2007 Ford Mustang GT just the way you wanted? You know the Shaker 1000, 64W 18” wheels, Hood Scoop, Leather with heated seats, the cool gauges that change color, aluminum accents through out and 3:55 cogs to get her rolling basically loaded WITHOUT the Automatic Tranny! Well that is just what I did on a Wednesday August 9th, 2006. It was a sunny warm day not a cloud in the sky here in Denver, Co and what really inspired me was a GT equipped the way I ordered my sitting on the lot only it was sold that day before I got my check book out. So I sat down and ordered mine the same as what I saw. I waited and waited and …..waited…. till I got the call today October 25th, 2006 at around 1:15 pm this afternoon to hear my salesman say “Jeremy, Hey Boss your mustang’s here and still on the truck come on down and take pictures.” So I jump in my little neck snapping 05 Civic and race to the Dealership to meet with Dave my salesman. Dave said, Jeremy bad news your car did not come with the 18” wheels you ordered it came with 17” I was like “What” and we went to look at the car. The window sticker had my name on it and the little 000X000 for the X-Plan pricing, only thing was is that car did not have hardly any the options I ordered in fact it was lacking about $3500.00 in options. No Shaker1000, No Hood Scoop, No Engine Cover, No Rolled exhaust tips, No aluminum pedal covers hardly anything that I had originally ordered was on the car. About the only thing I saw that I had ordered as an option on the car was he 3:55 gears, Inter Upgrade package, comfort group and satellite radio other than that I was hard pressed to find anything else. My stomach dropped and began to turn as I sat there holding in my hand the Original Vehicle Order Confirmation sheet that was originally sent in from the dealer. I told the dealer I was not going to accept the vehicle as it stood. The dealership could see that I was not happy, I did not take it out on the dealership as I was present when the order went in and I was given a copy of the Order form that day, so I did not see how they were at fault. Never the less the dealer tried to locate an exact build of mine and no where in 48 states were they able to locate one. I told the dealership to find out how fast they could order another one and have it shipped here. They are to check into tomorrow and call me in the morning. My question to everyone is should I say forget about it and switch back to being a chevy and mopar buyer (they’ve never messed up my order and I’ve a vehicle through both) or should I try and reason with the dealership and get them to through something into the bag for Fords F*&^ up? Keeping in mind that the snows about to start flying around here and I’ll not be able to drive it till Feb or March of next year? Also who recommends that I delete the rear spoiler and Seat Air-bags and anti-theft system? Please help, also attached is a web address to view the car that came in along with the two cars I just sold to purchase this one. http://www2.snapfish.com/photolibrary;jses...FB05557E02A3E42 http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/Al...rue/t_=76553996 Thanks, Jeremy P.S. JETSOLVER
More good news on the customer service front. I would be pretty disappointed myself, and if it was both the Jeep and the Fox you sold, I could see why you wanted an all up car. I frankly have never heard of a car with a VIN coming through with that much missing, maybe one or two options, but if your dealer doesn't have the zone rep there first thing tomorrow AM with some serious apology, I could not blame you for walking. Tough story, let us know what you decide to do. Why Ford Why is this still going on? This stuff is EASY to fix, and cheap compared to redoing a platform. jcain
Yeah I'm really T'ed off at the moment. I wish I could show you the vehicle order confirmation page I have in hand from the day i ordered it. Sticker price according to this would have been $32045 and Xplan $29742 hell the MSRP on the car that came in with my name on the sticker didn't even hit the Xpaln price talk about leaving alot of options off. I spoke to my Salesman just a minute ago and he said he's going to see what they can do about throwing some items into the car, maybe a free tint job and a few oil changes satellite for a year instead of the 6mo. I told him that if they can't do something for me then I'm probably going to the biggest compatition Omera ford and buy one off their lot that is only lacking the shaker1000 and then call it day. I told them it doesn't really matter cause I can get the X-Plan at any ford dealership so going to their dealership didn't mean anything different then going 10mi away it's the same car same price. If they say they won't do anything then I'm probably going to turn my head away from FORD all together and continue to purchase Chevy or Mopar, Besides I didn't read on the internet that they just claimed a $5.8 Billion dollar loss. Shit Ford may not claim that if they would just build a car the way it was ordered. Alan Mulally may just be getting a phone call at home tonight while he's sitting in big ass house fat dumb and happy eating dinner with the family from me tonight asking why they screwed up my order in Flat Rock. I'll tell him, "you want to know why you're losing money, it's because someone orders a product and as untasteful as it may sound they get nothing but a pile of shit that they didn't order." If you build something the way it was ment to be built people may say wow Ford was great my next car will be a Ford but in my case I'm thinking the Jeep Rubicon 4door, hell i'd bet my order comes in right my last one did????? Damnit Alan Mr. CEO where's Henry I've got a bone to pick with him, I sell a Jeep that was mint condition and an 89 Coupie that was flawless with 67Kmi ran 12's @ 5500' and pulled a 1G in the turns to order a loaded out 07 GT Stang and what I get basically a rather plain GT. You know if Ford has to put the car on hold for material issues then Damnit do it but don't build something slap someones name on the sticker send it out the door and call it "Built For J. Cain" just to get the numbers you needed by the end of the month. Hell the car probably never even had the 3:55's in the rearend. I would have been much happier if I had to wait another 2weeks for the 64w wheels and shaker1000 rather then what they sent. I'm sorry I'm venting but I'm still pissed. It was a beautiful day out and I looked forward to crusing in style today but this ruined the pretty 68deg sunny day. Better luck next time I guess I guess this was gods way of saying "This car is not for Jeremy it must have had Lemon written on it" You know things happen for reason. Oh well, I'll let you guys know what happens from here. Jeremy

Calling you down to look at a car knowing it's not equipped like you ordered is BS in my opinion. They should have just been honest up front and told you is wasn't what you ordered. flashfearless
I know that you said that you got your DORA from the original order, but I am sorry - the factory did not muss that one up alone. Probably what has been hidden from you are mods that the dealer did to get the order moving. Just my theory, I guess but I have never, ever, ever heard of an order missing so many parts. The worst that I ever heard of until this is someone did not get the 64W on their order. Your dealer is not telling you the whole story.
Embalmer
If another dealership close to you has the same car minus the Shaker 1000, do I even need to tell you what to do? For 4 speakers I would walk right over there and drive home in my Mustang. Customer service is sorely lacking these days. I can honestly say that because my business is all about customer service. If you don't please the customer, they have the right to go elsewhere. This concerns me because my Mustang GT is scheduled to be built on 11/6 and I've seen the DORA which was perfect. jcain
Funny you should mention that. I reviewed my DVOR and everything was 100% correct as it should have been. I went to dealership after leaving the one I ordered mine from and get this shit hold your breath and plug your butt cause you talk about customer service. I go to Omera Ford just north of Denver, CO. A salesman walks up to me and says "can I help you" I said yeah I'm actually looking to purchase a Mustang GT on my X-Plan. I explained to him about how I had ordered mine waited almost 12 weeks 8-9 and got here 10-25 and how the order was messed up. I told him I was looking for an 07 with all options but Automatic he said he had one but it did not have a shaker1000 and I said great let me look at it. He asked me to move my car into a parking spot rather then parked in front of the mustangs. So I did I got out of my car and started looking at a Roush Stage 3 they had because he was walking towards the doors. I was thinking he was grabbing the keys. I stand there for a while dreaming of it in my garage but I can't afford it (Low dollar Police Job) I began to wonder whats taking so long. I look around and I see the dumb ass talking to someone else who had just pulled up. I walked over and said "I'm sorry I thought you where helping me" He replied "I didn't think you wanted to purchase a Ford vehicle after the bad expeirence." I replied "I'm sorry I thought I told you I wanted to see the Black one you spoke of" Him "Oh well this guy wants to buy an F-250" Me "You know what your a piss poor salesman go f(*& yourself" Jumped into my little Honda Civic and away I went. I shouldn't have said what I Said but I was already having a bad taste of Ford and this guy just put a bad taste in the Delearships name for me. Anyhow that was my day. That is too bad about your dealings with the Ford guys. Don't worry about getting a Shaker 1000--I think it is way over priced and does not really sound any better than the 500. The 1000 adds the subs in the trunk and thats about it. I got the 1000 on mine and I pulled out the subs and amps to save weight. Good luck in your Mustang search! Grabber
Jeremy: I can understand how upset you are. Walk away from this dealer. A few oil changes and some free radio time mean nothing. Ford makes a good product. I hope you give them another shot. 1.) Some people make mistakes from time to time. 2.) Some people lie about stuff from time to time. Have you ever done items 1 & 2 ? Life is to short to get all bent out of shape over this. It's just a car. Oh ya, one other thing, God is watching over you, and what you do. You are correct about that point in your post. jcain
I'd just like to say thanks to everyone, I'm not going to say that I'm over it but I'm just going to go down tomorrow and place another on order. Hopefully they will get this one right. (one could only hope) I guess another reason I was so let down was I went out and carpeted my floor in the garage where it will sit and had a custom car cover made for it, ordered some Eibach springs, Tokico D-specs and KOOKS long tubes with Off-Road H-pipe. Now I have all this crap and no car You know it was funny, I was telling my dad the day I ordered it and as I ordered parts I told him and he said "Jeremy, watch your cars going to come in like my 03 Mach 1 did missing items or adding something" only thing is my dad's 03 took 3 times to get it right talk about a waist of year. I guess one good thing is that I've not lost any money out of the deal yet. So now I'm wondering if I should order a Tungsten Gray one instead of the black. I seem to find lots of them on the Dealers lots though. I never seem to find a Black on Black GT with a 5spd lots of Autos out there but very far and few between 5spds. What do you guys think? Tungsten or Black I'll be ordering a new one tomorrow at Noon Mountain Time. Thanks for boosting my spirits guys. Whenever I'm down I know the STANGERS will come around. Thats why I've always loved them it's like a little pack of horses they love to run with and support eachother. Jeremy

rpenna
Ouch, that is a tough situation. Someone had mentioned in one of the other threads that their dealer let them finance additional ford accessories right through their normal monthly payment. If you're not totally turned off with your current dealer, you could ask them to throw the wheels / tires on there, and finance them. The rolled exhaust tips, hood scoop and engine cover can all be dealer installed addons as well, so you'd just be out of luck on the shaker 1000. If it was me, I'd probably be doing exactly what you're doing, looking elsewhere. When you wait that long for something, having all that excitement smashed to hell can be a pretty demoralizing thing. Five Oh B
To help prevent this from happening again, here's a little refresher as to what happens when you order a car and what you should know.... 1. When you sit down at the dealer and order the car, the salesman or sales manager will enter the order into the computer and be able to print a "Vehicle Order Confirmation (VOC)" on the spot for you. To actually get that order submitted, hit the F4 button on the screen. Very, very few people at the dealership have the clearance to hit the submit button, so most of the time the VOC has not actually been submitted to Ford as the customer is still there. 2. After the customer leaves with a VOC, the salesman takes his copy of the VOC to someone at the dealership with the ability to actually submit an order (sales manager, inventory manager, etc.). Hopefully, the order gets re-entered exactly as it was listed on the VOC. A VOC can be 2 pages if there are a lot of optional items ordered for the car, so if only the 1st page was printed, then many items will be missed when re-entering the order with the sales manager. 3. Once the order is submitted (hopefully complete and correct), Ford will electronically generate a "Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement (DORA)" that will print at the dealership the following day with other Ford communications. The dealership should put a copy of the DORA in the file for your order, and send you a copy of the DORA to review for accuracy. If the dealership input your order wrong, or if Ford read the order wrong, this would be the place to catch it and correct it. 4. Assuming any corrections need to be made, the dealership can alter the order to fix it for re-submission to Ford. Ford will issue another DORA overnight with the phrase "alter-order" at the top to confirm that they've corrected the order on their end. Again, the dealership should put a copy of the altered DORA in the file for your order, and send you a copy of the altered DORA to review for accuracy. 5. If the DORA is correct, then your car will be built correct. Once in a great while Ford may mess up (called a mis-build), but we typically see just a couple a year out of thousands of new Ford that we get yearly, so they are over 99% accurate. Recently, we had a 07 Mustang GT arrive with the Interior Upgrade with one silver "mustang" door sill plate and the other side just had the plastic "mustang" door sill plate. Easy fix and mis-builds are typically one little part that gets overlooked. Not 1/2 of your ordered options like on jcain's car. For jcain's car, we can speculate forever on who goofed, but with commodity restrictions on the 18" wheels and manual transmissions delaying orders for months, many dealers change orders to delete these items to speed up the order. Typically, a dealer will only change orders that are just for store stock 'cuz you don't want to mess with a customer's special order, but maybe jcain's dealer goofed and thought his order was for a stock unit and changed it to speed it up? My best guess is that this is what happened based on my 7 years experience in ordering cars at a Ford dealership.
pitpup
jcain... Everyone here has made excellent points and give great advice. Let me say that do not accept anything except what you want. If it takes 6 months to square it away, so be it. Go the six. This car is everything they say it is. But stay on top of these dealers. I switched from 18" fanblades to 18" bullitts and they told me they were tough to get. I said, "I'll wait." Do not bring that car in here without the bullitts. The car was 100% as ordered. Wait and get it right. You won't be sorry.

jcain
Well I just went down and reordered a New GT only I changed a few things. I deleted the Rear Spoiler again and the Side Airbags drops 380.00 big ones off the price of the GT. I'm sorry but I can't live without the Shaker 1000 it's a must after hearing it vs the 500 I'm sold. I know it's a lot of beans to put down for a stock system but I'm not 19yrs old anymore and I enjoy the looks of the factory stuff. The subs in the back well it would cost about 500 for a good set of subs and about 300-500 for a box that would fit nicely in the rear and still allow for the access from the cockpit to the trunk when the seats are down and still about another 300-500 for a solid amp to power the subs plus the hassel of ripping out the carpet, seats ect. to install everything. I'm sorry I'll stick with the overpriced Shaker1000. As for the 64W's well I ordered the new with them just as the last but I could live with something less as I plan to go to 20's down the road but for now I want the 18's not the crappy stock 17's they gave me the first time around. The dealership is too call me as soon as Ford sends the DORA back to compair my order against what they received. The dealer is also going to put a rush on the vehicle with a priority of 10 and they are going to try and pull some strings to get here ASAP. I'll keep all posted. rpenna
I have the shaker 500 cause I didn't think I'd really care too much about the stereo. It's not a huge deal, cause I have a convertible, but the 500 really sucks. I'd probably go with the 1000 if I did it again. I would not trade my 64W's for anything though. They bring it all together.

The dealership is too call me as soon as Ford sends the DORA back to compair my order against what they received. The dealer is also going to put a rush on the vehicle with a priority of 10 and they are going to try and pull some strings to get here ASAP. I'll keep all posted. Jeremy: I am glad to hear that your car is re-ordered. I hear ya on the Shaker 1000. Factory installed stuff is nice. I ordered my wifes GT/CS in June and we had it 7 weeks later. I hope you get your car soon. BTW : I also went with the Shaker 1000 on my GT500 order because of the same reasons you stated. Keep us posted. Burke0011
Dude - seriously - STAY the course. Glad it looks like you are - don;t fault the car for the dealer BS - most dealers suck it. I waited two extra months for my car and it arrived in Florida without the agreed upon Saleen work being done - had to be shipped BACK to Troy MI and then shipped back down again. I was so pissed I couldn't see straight and COMPLETELY understood those folks who want to bail out of the STang and back to another car. It was hell - it was frustrating torture....... BUT... I finally got what I wanted - how I ordered it..... And there will be nothing like that feeling when you take delivery of that car and that frist drive home. I guarantee. Stay strong bro - you will be happy soon......
