Slotted crossed drilled rotors

Recommended Posts

I have seen a lot of crossed drilled slotted rotors for sale on this site, but these are

the least expensive ones I have found. Anyone else bought any of these particular

rotors? Good buy or not? Opinions please!

I wouldn't necessarily be interested in the 'cheapest' brakes I could find.

That's not typically a component of the car I think you should skimp on. Just my .02. Good luck.

+1...Agreed.

Brakes, suspension and tires are not areas where you should cut corners. Do your homework and buy quality, not by cost. These are "performance" parts, your life depends on them, and you get what you pay for.

Frankly, I'd stick with the stock rotors over what is offered/suggested ^ there. Brakes function on swept area and need to maximize as much contact between the pad and rotor as possible. Cutting slots and drilling holes in a standard rotor only reduces (and weakens) that swept area to aid in cooling. However, if you are driving hard enough to super-heat rotors and pads, this alone dictates a need for higher quality components and careful planning.

Having driven LuLu to 140 MPH for extended periods, I found the weaknesses in the SGT's stock brakes (BTW, they are shared across the S197 frame, everyone has the same brakes except the GT 500). I called Page @ Stillen and we put together an azz-kicking kit for all four corners without having to replace the stock SGT wheel/tire assembly. Rotors, pads, SS lines and high temp fluid, all for 1500 bucks. Very high quality components, IMHO, and LuLu can "whoa" like never before.

OTOH...It's your car, do what you want.

I just put these on my SGT plus painted the calipers while off

Good product, great price...not a high performance system but good quality and look great.
