2FST4U Posted October 19, 2006 Report Share Posted October 19, 2006 Since day one I have a fluctuation at idle, only when the engine is not fully warmed up. Also have a surge while at cruise more noticable in lower gears. After it is fully warmed up it runs fine. No engine light, no codes in PCM. Called Ford hotline and they said mine is the only concern they have recieved! The car is driven at high altitude, 5000-7500 feet. Anyone else having this problem? svtbird91 Posted October 19, 2006 Report Share Posted October 19, 2006 Sounds like it is running lean when the enging is cold and it is "hunting " for more fuel. If that is the case it is most likely a computer related problem. maybe a reflash would correct this . Also check all intake connections and sensors. i'm sure your dealer could check this out easily. Inspected for vac leaks. I agree sounds like a lean condition. Will do more searching . Was just curious to see if I'm the only one. I'm still thinking altitude may come into play.
