HIGHFLIGHT
I made the four hour drive and arrived at Modular Performance (MPH) in Cartersville, GA Saturday morning. When I left to return to Asheville, NC, my '07 SGT with 278 RWHP now had 450.2 RWHP and 438 ftlbs of torque. Boost is up to 9# and the wideband A/F gage reads 14.6 at a 70 mph cruise speed. I think it is faster than my stock GT500. The wheels spin shifting from 3rd to 4th with the traction control ON. Another Kenne Bell happy customer. Oh the helical cut twin screws are quite, no whine like the Eaton on my GT500. I'm very HAPPY with the results. I am impressed with Tim and his crew. Very friendly and answered all my questions. I watched two of his employees (one his brother) remove a 4.6L engine (the car had other issues), teardown, rebuild, and replace the engine. Then install a 2.1KB SC, fill the fluids, run the car, then hand it over to Tim to do the dyno magic and tune the car. That was all done in the afternoon because the car was driven 6 hours from Winston-Salem. The car was on the dyno when I left a little after 6PM. They (MPH) know how to make horsepower. The one thing I noticed, was that no one stood around thinking about the next move they were going to take. It was attack, attack, attack. A solid and well organized business. I had never seen a supercharged 4.6L-4V with twin turbos and dual nitro injectors. I am impressed and left with a handfull of business cards to hand out. I told Tim when I was going to void the warranty on my GT500, I'll bring it to him and get the KB SC used on the 725hp SuperSnake. For those of you who had to wait to get your KB S/C six or so weeks ago, it was me. Thanks to Ken, the staff at Kenne Bell, and Donnie Beason at SAI for their help. Thanks again for you help and support. I can't tell other people enough how fast, the level, and amount of support/service I got from Kenne-Bell and SAI. It was the best. You order it from SPP and K/B drop ships it to your door, logo and all. When I ordered mine it was the same price as what K/B has on their price list. I had mine installed at MPH too and as far as I know they are not SAI approved but I do know they are K/B recomended. Jeff
blueone
Looks good HF, if you’re ever down this way again let me know, not very many SGT'S around here and I've been hanging with the Falcon club, it’s alright but I kind of stick out a little. Congrats!!! :happy feet: Jeff
FordRocks1
Nice pics....so let me get this straight, KB and the Paxton are the only SCs that you can retain that strut bar in the engine bay?

The KB does not allow for the stock strut bar to fit. I laid mine over my KB unit and there is direct contact. I know that pottydr (Rick Yates) has found that the strut bar for the V-6 will fit. I know that pottydr (Rick Yates) has found that the strut bar for the V-6 will fit.Jim Check out my picture again....a shim here a spacer there and it fits clear. Point of contact was on the passenger side on the plastic ducting. The engine twist counter clockwise down from the point of contact with the stock bar. I think being that close may vary from chassis to chassis. Some stock bars may work with a shim or thin spacer as in my case, or not and you can use the V6 brace. But after seeing the Whipple and the KB together, the KB with the 2.6L (around 9# boost) vs the Whipple at 2.3L (around 10# boost), I'll go with the more powerful/efficient (look at the RWHP numbers) and physically smaller KB. When I started I had both the KB and Whipple new in their boxes next to the car. One characteristic I like about the KB is how quite the thing is when making hp. With the Whipple you will need to (1) buy a new hood, or (2) spend $725 for the kit to lower the engine. Chip Beck is working on a design to fashion a brace to fit under the stock hood for the SGT. Installing a Supercharger does make a huge difference...61% hp increase in my case and you can do this at the home garage (see the Donnie Beason memo in this months Shelby news). Happy motoring! Hi Grady, Thanks for the suggestion to go back to your photo. I will take another stab at things with your idea. I would sure like to use my stock bar. Highflight, Very nice indeed! Great write-up and pictures! So, the lingering question on the KB SC for those of us in the beautiful Northwest where it rains frequently...how will the KB airfilter location fair in our wet road conditions? SGT/SC#0471
+1 Edit to add: What thickness spacers and what locations did you use? This looks great. How close is the actual s/c to the strut bar, do you wonder if it will hit under hard use? Thanks great write up I am drooling yet again.
