Thanks for the sound on both cars.

My question for both Ruf and Orf is this...Is there any exhaust "Drone" at the 1800- 2200 rpm range when in normal driving mode ?

My son-inlaw has a 05GT vert and wants an aftermarket sys but is afraid of the dreaded drone.

I was wondering myself for the GT500.

Thanks , George...

For that trip to meet the guys, I drove 7 1/2 hours each way (505miles). About 75% Interstates, 25% back roads. At various times, I had the cruise set on 65, 75, and 85. I had no drone whatsoever.

I am at work. I do about half my work at home - online classes, you know. :bandance:

I toggle back and forth between Mustangs and Academe!

This site is the antidote for work.

Ooops! I just noticed I'm running low on paper clips.

Off to Office Depot! :shift:

No drone.

Most people say they like the sound.

Some young guys want more noise, though.

Hey ruf, I was going to go with magnaflows for my 07 Shelby but since I heard your GT with the Bassanis, they sound louder than stock but not harsh like the Corsas, and the tipps are also nicer. I don't know what they would sound like on the Shelby. Love what you did on the ride height, the car looks great, how much did you lower the car and what brand of springs did you use. Oh by the way I didn't hear the rug hit the ground but I heard the thong hum like a powerline in a hurricane.

I'm not posting a picture of all of it for fear the room may turn pink!! :hysterical:

:hysterical:

ok, no pink, I promise I won't ;)

ruf, re ordering parts in advance... :hysterical2::hysterical2::hysterical2:

Hey, svtbird (my bro and best buddy* <lol>), if you do a stangs-unleashed search on Corsa, Evil Chris had tried three brands before deciding on the Corsas -- he was also very concerned about 1500-2200 drone and said there was none. He also posted audio clips of the Corsas and at least one other -- all on his GT.

( *ok, yeah, I'm brown-nosin' <lol> )

Hey, Dan - I trust you're keeping the showgirls happy out there. (I'm very - very eager to hear your response to riding/driving in SVT's Shelby, Dan)

Yeah - I got a kick out of Bill buying parts before the car!

He's making me feel somewhat normal. (somewhat?)

Hi Keith - Dan has good advice - listen to them on a Shelby before pulling the trigger. Exhaust sounds are as subjective as rims are. I like how you like my Bassanis - but I'd also like you to hear them on a Shelby first. I bought the springs through Ford Racing (Eibachs) - they lowered the car 1.5". I'll ignore the thong comment - but won't forget it! I may change the rear springs in an attempt to even out the ride height - it's still a little nose heavy. I'd like an even height.

Hey, Dan - I trust you're keeping the showgirls happy out there.

<lol> actually I haven't been to a casino yet this trip -- not much of a gambler, but we usually do a tour of a few to take in some shights or a show.

NHRA was awesome Sunday!!! Force went out in the second round but Capps went out first so she's 70-someting points up going into Pomona -- yeah, John. I talked to one of his daughters a little (not Ashley) -- sweet kid -- she drives a little dragster ...has her own autograph card/promo sheet.

My son-in-law had never been to an NHRA event before -- the fuelers blew him away!!! He's thought he wouldn't need earplugs until the first run damn near blew his eardrums out <lol> so I had to take him to the pit betw rounds. After they rebuild, the fire it up while still on jacks (no prob), then they blip the throttle to make check things, and then your brain just oozes out of two holes that just got punched in your head!!! That blew him away!

Needless to say, all of Force's teams had people 30-deep, even while the round was still on -- amazing... everyone seems to love Force and Schumacker Jr. Perfect weather and a great day ... Height set a new track speed record the night before 333, I think, but broke the next day. Schumacker was going for an ET record - came close, but couldn't break 4.46, not that that's too shabby <lol> A great day!

I've Got to get to a Big Show in '07. It's been too long.

I've heard a lot of engines throughout the years - but nothing - and I mean nothing - even comes close to a Nitro Rail/Funny Car.

(I haven't heard the Shuttle on launch!)

Words can't describe the sounds.

It's borderline on apocolyptic.

And the smell of nitro - nothing better! :baby:

Really glad y'all had a blast.

I have to admit, at my age, I don't think - no - that's wrong. I KNOW I no longer have the gonads to climb in one of those and give it a ride! My time for that - has passed.

However, if you see me in your mirrors in the black car - tighten up your belts! :shift: Cause the Rufstang is coming to a stoplight near you, soon.

I'm glad you're having a good time out there. When you get to the SEMA show , see if Shelby automotive has a new wheel design for the 07GT500.

As far as the exhaust system is concerned I got my eye on the SSW system.Long tubes, hiflow cats, X-pipe,back to mufflers. ALL 3 " ss pipe. What do you think ?

Bill, Bill, Bill....apparently you've been spending too much time taking inventory on your ever-increasing parts lot for your inbound Shelby.

You'll feel much better if you come clean and let us know what you've got lined up for the car.

Tune? Accessories?

Tell us, Bill - or I'll fuel up the Harrier and do a solo op.

I haven't heard Ford Racing.

Corsa? If you want to let them know you're coming - and that you're leaving.

Bassani? If you mostly want them to know you're ahead of them! :hysterical:

Now - about our next meet...for those who would like to come -- how important is track time?

It would be much easier to just gather up and do some cruising.

How about this?

Significant others would have shopping op's to die for.

Food? Forget about it!

We could set up some orange cones in the lot for track time?

Shows at night - secure parking is available. (I can arrange that)

Perhaps track time at the NASCAR track? (I can research if we have enough interest)

There uses to be a page at the Shelby Autos site showing their wheels. That page seems to be gone now, but the link below shows gallery shots of the pre-production CS6 with the wheels that were on that page. I'll also check at SEMA this week to see if anything else/new is available for GT500. http://www.shelbyautos.com/gallery.asp?car=blkcs6

svtbird, those pipes look awesome!!! I really like those X-pipes that just 'kiss' -- some others intersect heavily and I wonder if those don't restrict flow more -- really like the ones in the pix.. 3" all the way!!! Are those pix shown of a GT500 (tranny looks narrow for some reason)?

Dan

Those pics were "E" mailed to me by SSW the other day. The car in the pics I believe is the GT500. The long tubes are $999. and from there back is $995. There is a choise of a 3" muffler with 3" inside straisht thru ("very agressive sound ") or a 3" muffler with 2-1/2" inside straight thru.

The HP gains are in the 1-7/8 long tube primaries to a 3" collector and the 3" x pipe/high flow cats mainly.

I think I will opt for the 2-1/2" muffler for noise considerations. I'm waiting for some feedback from someone who has this system on their car.

Maybe the trannie looks smaller because the pipes are so large.

As far as the wheels are concerned I heard that Shelby has a new design comming out just for the 07 GT500. Thats what I was hoping would be unvailed at the show.

Have a great time at the show today.

George....

Orf - Just got through watching the video - Very very cool!

And I guessed right on the soundtrack!

Next time we meet - we need to do some action video. Lots of possibilities.

And your packaging shows your attention to detail - very professional.

You Rock, my man.

(I wish there was some way to make the video available to our members)

Ruf - out.

Orf - I just watched the vid again. You're brilliant.

The last shot of me getting out of the car and pumping my fist is synchronized with SRV's last gitar pick. Brilliant.

Re: roll bars. This might be an issue at most tracks. Is The Tail of the Dragon looking any better? Only problem with that venue is...trees. You can't really hang it out.
