Instuctions for installing billet engine caps...

Recommended Posts

This sounds stupid but one of the caps has a small hhop on the cap retaining wire..I'd like to know what to do with this before I go for it...

There was a sticky for insatalling parts.

First mod for me...kept my word one year before any mods...its a rule along with 1 month to three before I drive it like I stole it.

The next owner is really going to get a really well used SGT haha!

If cap you are referring to is the power steering reservoir i put my lanyard loop under the screw (washer) that secures the reservoir to the radiator cowl.

The stock lanyard fits the knob on the top of the reservoir but my loop would not go over the knob so had to improvise...looks good and works OK...be careful not to kink the lanyard cable when removing the lid.

With a little patience and fenaggling (SP) I was able to get the lanyard over the knob. Took a few minutes but it fit.

I will look at it under the hood. Mine is the Shelby P/S cap. At first when I opened the package I thought the crimp was in the wrong location...I will try to see if its self evident with your input in mind thanks guys...

Mc, like Reino said, with a little patience the loop will slip over the plastic post. Try a little vaseline (always help in tight spots). If you haven't gotten it on yet here are a couple pics of mine. Hope this helps.
