Where are the new SHELBYs?

I hope the SAI will give us members some info on the new Shelbys. I hope that they will not pull a SGT advertising campain and not let anybody know what their cars are. I think it is about time to spill the beans to the members at SAI, you know so we can start saving our coin. Amy if you read this please a little info on whats down the pipe. SUDDEN.

The dilemma we face is that for vehicles like the SGT and KR, SAI is only part of the manufacturing process. The seller is Ford. Ford did a pretty good job of getting the word out about the KR. They did a lousy job with the GT. I'm not sure why but I always felt they were protecting the GT500. Either way, Shelby doesn't have the responsibility for this.

 

SAI does a good job of getting their mods out - the SS and 40th were well promoted in the press. T his is mostly through articles, not by advertising. Press releases are free [Marketing 301].

The GT500 is indeed a shelby but because it is a joint project with SVT / Ford, it gets the advertising dollars from the "blue oval". The SGT while it is based on a Ford Mustang and while there has to contractual / partnerships in place with Ford, the SGT was SIA's baby and thus- NO advertising dollars from Ford.

 

And yes, it would also make sense for SIA to beat their own drum on the SGT so as not to totally / directly compete with GT500 sales with Ford. Now the interesting thing here is that the new KR is built in a similar way as our SGT's (meaning that Vegas does some of the work) -BUT it's still based off a FORD / SVT car so.... it's about a clear as mud. -Leave it to the company suits to figure it out.

 

I do find it interesting that SIA pulled the SGT just in time for Ford to release the Bullit. \\

 

I just hope SIA makes the GT350 and that it gets completed in Vegas. My SGT needs a bigger brother to look up to!
