CS6 convertables?

Hi Y'all,

I've been watching these posts on CS6 / CS8 and I love the look of these cars!

I have a 2006 V6 vert which has been my daily driver (keep mileage down on the SGT).

Now I am seeing that car in a potentially new light!

Have any of you completed (or are working on) a CS6 as a convertable? If so i would love to see how it looks.

I know there's one member on here with a white convertible. I can't think of his name.

Check out SHELBYCS6. He has a white convertible with gold stripe. It really is a beautiful car. There are quite a few pictures of it in the Dearborn pictures thread at the car show. You can't miss it.

That is the only convertible I have seen.

Hi,

I own the white CS6 convertible with gold stripes.

There are only a handful of CS6 vehicles around and I thought I had the only convertible till I just saw then other one you posted.

You will not see very many convertibles simply due to overall cost.

To buy the vert, the full CS6 package with installation your almost at the cost of a GT-500.

For me however, to have a vehicle this unique was worth the cost.

Hi Randy,

I have the vert, it has been my daily driver for 6 months now.... When I can free up some cash I plan to do the conversion. I plan to do most of the work myself. The 4.0 V6 has so much potential, stock is pretty quick!

I have an 07 SGT which I love, The vert has the potential to outshine the SGT. Yours is AWSOME.

Thank you for the compliment,

I too love the CS6 / CS8 platform.

Currently I'm running just under 400 fwhp.

I'm actually looking right now at converting the engine to a stroker over the winter.

A custom V6 engine builder in the USA has a stroker kit which will make this a 4.3L displacement engine.

He has run the quarter in 9 + seconds with a modified V6 + a 125 shot.

The 4.0L SOHC package includes a special light weight balanced crank, rods, pistons, ground cam, high tensile bolts, the block gets bored 0.030" over and radical head work.

This upgrade including the Paxton and other items I currently have should put me somewhere in the 500 to 550 hp range with the V6.

I would also have to have the transmission modified and potentially some rear end work as well.

If I move forward with this option I'm going to document the modification and build and do a weekly TS posting.

Do you have links to the article or builder's website? I'm interested in seeing this and so would some of my fellow 4.0 mustang drivers at www.mustangcollective.com :) I currently have the X - charger on mine.
