thewheelman
Does ANYBODY have side scoops on their GT 500 from the factory? If you look at my photos (site below) you'll see that my GT 500 has them on it sitting on the showroom floor. It came from the factory this way, as it is a pre-production unit, I can only assume that somwhere between my build date and full production the side scoops were dropped.....unless, of course, some of you have 2007 GT 500's with factory side scoops. The salesman, bless his heart, does know more about hi-po Mustangs than most, but he keeps telling me that the 07 had side scoops because the '67 had them....I have yet to see another 07 with side scoops..... Help me out here.... Thanks!
RStangsOC
The one in the first picture next to yours looks like no side scoops. You have a special one

Are you sure the dealer did add them? Just seems funny that this is the only preproduction car (any GT500) with side scoops. Car looks great! Regards. BanditSRT8
Is it listed on your window sticker? If not, they were dealer added before it hit the floor.
idareu
I was thinking about adding them.
3railbank
I would echo the above. Mine was sitting on the showroom floor with the top down and had a light bar installed. No where on the sticker or options is a light bar, so had to be dealer installed. I made sure to get included in the deal new covers where the light bar gets cut into the pillars so I can return it to stock as needed in the future(25 years?) thewheelman
What does the GT 500 Premium Trim Package entail? And what is the Order Code 850A? I found these on the build sheet but don't know what they actually mean to the car. Also, I can't verify what the dealer tells me as 3 of the 4 GT 500's I've ever actually seen were in his show room, but the side scoops are not the same ones as on the Shelby GT's.....no honeycomb plastic in the opening.....more of a silver rubberized panel.....that mean anything to anyone? BanditSRT8
Premium trim refers to the added trim such as your leather covered dash. This is actually a Ford thing, not Shelby. You can get the Mustang GT with premium trim. The side scoops by Shelby will have the black honeycomb inside.

Wheelman, Attached is the 2007 GT500 Order Guide dated March 06. 850A is the order code for the Convertibile, the Premium Interior includes:(wrapped & stitched instrument panel brow & center console w/upgraded door armrest, electrochromic rearview mirror w/compass & aluminum pedal covers) Notice no Side Scoops--I think you're dealer installed the scoops. SpeedRacer
Wheelman, Here is a thread on "preproduction cars". Regards. Stuart http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php...uction&st=
03reptile
The side scoops are dealer installed. Ford does not have any option for installation of side scoops on the GT500. I ordered side scoops for the California Special Gt and they looks great.
