It actually is supposed to put out about 512 - 517 at the crank and they are being dyno'd at about 425-440 RWHP. Hope that answers your ??

05FSTBK
Sure does. Thanks I just had my stock GT500 dyno'd yesterday morning at 8am on a dyno jet. GT500 purchased on June 20th. 3300+ miles no mods. It was 450(point something) hp at 5500rm. I had Gibson exhaust and a Steeda CAI put on yesterday afternoon. This morning we'll be tuning it with the SCT tuner. I'll let everyone know what improvements were made.

Before you all dismiss this as *oh jeez, a 2 post newb*, hear me out. I work for an OEM supplier for Ford and we make the belts that make those engines work. (mustang, Shelby GT 500 and Ford GT, among others) When I finally brought my GT 500 home and took it to the plant to show it off, one of our engineers saw it and came to talk to me. He had just returned from the Romeo engine facility and said the main concern of his visit was the supercharger belt specs. The Romeo engineer told him the specs had to be tight because this engine could be tuned to 700 hp. (This was also confirmed by Jamal Hameedi, Chief Nameplate engineer for SVT in SVT Enthusiast magazine 2007 vol 1 issue 1) Having said that, you may want to look at a larger mass air meter as well. I'm getting the urge to start modding mine, but I think I am going to stay with FRPP and keep my warranty.

Dealer told me the 500 hp number was just a insurance figure and that the cars actually rolled out with more ponies than that.....of course, that was the salesman talking. I'm happy with 500 +- a few!

05FSTBK
Well, with my mods my car dynoe'd 470.1 hp/450 TQ at the wheels (SAE corrected) on a 93 degree day in NC. I just got back from the shop. Remember baseline at the wheels was: 450.19 hp and 450.48 max torque after the new cai, cat back exhaust and SCT tune: 510.45 hp and 486.03 max torque Everyone at the shop was pleasantly suprised with the improvements. We were all only expecting 20 maybe 25 Hp gain We got over 60hp or 11.7% gain.

Nice, congrats.....Mine were about 493/500 with similar setup...

I'm thinking if it had been 20-30 degrees cooler and a cool engine I would have been closer to 500 at the wheels.

But only had been driven about 3 miles. 82.46 degrees F, 28.55 in Hg, Humidity 33%, STD: 1.07 Day 2 was 9:32 am left on the dyno overnight in the shop. started cold. 79.40 degrees f, 28.43 in Hg, Humididty 36%, STD:1.

Usually for comparisons sake it is best to use SAE, as that takes into account variance in environmental conditions.
