68fastback
On the '01 Cobra, has anyone heard valve clatter for 1 second or so on cold start-up --shorter if warm. Dealer says it's normal. Two others I've heard are similar, but I'm still wondering if it's a problem or truly 'normal.' Anyone hear this? -Dan

68fastback
Update: with 35K mi, it clatters longer when cold (a few seconds) and there's also a quieter sound, almost like when letting out a clutch, that lasts for a good 30 seconds when cold then slowly fades away. Dealer says no problem found -- normal! Anyone have this?

That's what I've been told anyways. Does it go away after the car warms up? Does the "clatter" speed vary w/rpm? I've heard using a heavier weight oil will help, but I haven't tried. I use Mobil1 5w30 synthetic and it still does it when cold, but goes away after warming up.
