Mine Shipped! How do I trace?

Well..........

(drum roll PLEASE!)

Just got off the phone with the Inventory Manager at my dealer a few minutes a go, and my G O 'vert was built and is scheduled to ship.

He faxed me over the "Vehicle Order Maintenance" confirmation and it lists the rail car as follows:

Rail Car ETTX904810

Ramp ETA 092506

Dealer ETA 092806

He did say that when he looked it up, it showed the rail car as empty and in MO right now, maybe it's been assigned but hasn't arrived and been loaded yet?

Hoping someone call tell me how to track and confirm this myself.

In the meantime, I'm just STOKED!

Can't wait 'til it gets here, going to be hard to concentrate on work the next week and a half!

Mike.

Just like my post, I am afraid if its in MO, then those Kansas City boys must of stolen it. An empty rail car is an empty rail car.

Man, that's really too bad :tease:

post-6132-1158804047_thumb.jpgQuestion for ya'll. I'm in Abilene, TX. Ordered mine on 9-11. What was the timeframe between you making the order and when you got word it was shipped?

Phil

A lot of variance in here it seems.

I deposited mine April-05 (yes, 1-1/2 years ago) but my dealer refused to place it in the system until about 2 months ago (long story that I won't go into AGAIN right now).

Some guys here have had orders in since the order banks opened (March-06?) and still don't have VIN numbers and/or are on "Material Hold". and there are several that fall in between

Just seems really random, depends on the dealer.

Who'd you buy from?

Alright, come on guys, who was it that could trace a rail car?

Help!

Please!

PSDS is taking over!

Where is it my Preciousssss?....

Mike.

UPDATE:

OK, I figured out how to get around UPRR's registry system and get in and trace a railcar on their system.

This will NOT work with the VIN, but if you have the railcar number you can go to the link below and find out basic location and status of the rail car.

Thought I should share...

The railcar number listed here is the railcar that took your vehicle to the "Mixing Center". Your vehicle has not only been loaded on this railcar it has been moved and unloaded by the time you checked the website. Contrary to what many think the car is moved several times from the time it is built. From the plant they release the vehicle to the transit system (managed by a division of UPS) The transit system is responsible for the delivery to the final destination. The vehicles are built and sorted into general regions, then put on truck or railcar to go to the regions "mixing center".

The mixing center for the West is in Kansas City. From there the cars of off loaded from the first railcar. The cars are sorted based on which ramp (rail center) is closest to the final destination. For Example Boise, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Mira Loma, etc.

If your dealer contact checks again in a day or two you will see another railcar number. This is the car that will carry your vehicle to the final destination. (delivery from rail yard to dealership is typically by transport truck.) If it remains in the Union Pacific System then you can track the new rail car here

http://c01.my.uprr.com/pet/motorVehicleTrace.jsp

It is pretty cool if you watch the site, it will tell you whenever the railcar passes thru another rail point. One thing to keep in mind also is that the ETA to industry is the estimated time the railcar will be delivered to the terminal for unloading, depending on the 'traffic' you may still have a day or two wait for the rail to actually get the vehicles unloaded. Be patient here you dont want to rush the unloading, it seems that the car that gets the damage is the one that someone insists is urgently needed.

PlatinumLion,

Thanks for the input!

So, here's the biggest question then...

Since my car apparently is no longer on the Rail Car number that I have, how do I track the car itself by VIN?

Is there a site I can log onto to do that?

Can you, or somebody else in here, trace?

Mike.

Driver almost got nailed by cops in Leavenworth he is hiding out at bronze bodies then is going to Modern Beauty Salon on Whitman St for a makeover. He has already gone to Jims Chevron to give car a bath. Cops will never recognize it now.

Boy, I hope all these "experiences" don't cost extra! I can't afford things like makeovers and baths after the ADM!!

Thanks for the updates. Its keeping me up at night!

Ronda, Hope you understood the towns it was passing through were real. The businesses are also near tracks where car passed by.

to help pass time just go to GOOGLE earth and look them up. You can then find path it took on its way to you.

YOUR CAR IS NEARLY TO FINAL RAIL DESTINATION!!!

Should be there 7:00 AM TOMORROW MORNING!

Sent you a PM for more detailed info

TwinTurboBoss,

I am remotely familiar with the towns you were describing. Lived several years in the State of Washington. Which town is the final rail destination. Portland?

Again, thanks for the information.

Platinum, the cars are not ALWAYS unloaded and/or change railcars. I have seen numerous Shelby's stay on same rail car from time it left factory until it reached final destination.

Well, as much as it sucks, mine has moved back a full day just today. Currently in "Archer, WY", and showing an ETA of 9:42 PM on the 28th.

Original dealer ETA was that date.

Here's hoping it doesn't back up any further...

Mike.

UPDATE EDIT:

Just got to Cheyenne WY at 12:30 CST.

Can you feel the love?

Now, where's my F'in car!!!

PSDS taking over, need a drink, maybe a joint.

Oh, damn, can't have that because of employer testing, OK give me 3 drinks!

My build date was 9/1/06 and the original ETA was 9/20/06. No car yet. Sounds like we might be getting our cars at about the same time. Great color choice by the way!

Hope your car isn't delayed further, good luck!

Ronda,

I've only seen pics of 2 G O / Yungsten 'verts, ought to be an interesting combo.

We HAVE to get yours and mine together. (Same except hard/soft top).

Only option I put to mine was the interior upgrade. Wanted less weight and golf club space in the trunk.

Ought to be fun!

Here's hoping we both get our new steeds quick!

Sounds great! Mine also only has the interior upgrade. Thought that $1300 was too much for a stereo upgrade, the supercharger should be the only music I need! What area of the country are you in? It would be cool to get pictures of both together! G O will be sooo cool.

We should be driving soon!

I'm in the "Land of Neon".

A convertible should be easy to drive year round when it gets MAYBE 30 degrees a couple days in the winter, and runs 110+ in the summer.

The joke is when everyone else is top up because its cold, I'll be top down.

When everyone else is "top-down" in the summer, I'll probably be top-up to beat the heat!

I'm planning on taking some night time picks in front of the MGM and Stratosphere, just for ambiance.

So, where are you at?

Night time pics should be cool.

I'm in the land of "Continuous Rain", so a vert is not very practical. I'm near the state capital of Oregon (Salem).

Next time I'm in Sin City I'll have to look you up!

the above link is the system that my dealer got a report out of, showing that my car was in Mira Loma and is to be transported by Hadley Transportation

Not sure how to gain access to it though. The site seems to be tracking for a very HUGE west coast distibution center for Ford & Daimler Chrysler

any one know anything about this?

Just got off phone with my dealer. My Alloy coupe left Flat Rock last Thursday and will be at dealership on Wednesday this week. I ordered it on 6-24-06 built on 8-28-06 and left Flat Rock on 9-21-06. Held up for clutch quality check. Life is good once again. :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:

Well, latest update:

Inventory Manager just called. The G O vert IS on the Rail car that is in Salt Lake City.

It's ETA here is late Thursday night (09-28).

He's saying that based on the time coming in, it probably won't deliver to dealership until Monday, as it probably won't unload Friday, get onto ground transport and make it that day, and they don't take deliveries on the weekends. :banghead:

The White/Blue coupe shipped on 09-19.

He does not have the rail-car info, but the ETA is "week of the 30th" which would be later the same week that the 'vert comes in.

Next week ought to be interesting... :bandance:

Mike.
