I'm not sure if anyone with their GT500 visits us anymore, but if you're still in attendance it would be valuable to let us now:

A) How many miles have you put on your cars; and

B) What have you learned (any squeeks, more horespower, anything)

I just passed 1,000 miles. All is the same: excellent.

2,900 since 8/5/06 including the 500 to get it home. First oil change at 998. Dyno'd at +/- 2,000 miles. (See figures below in sig). Ford Racing /Borla axle-backs. Steeda dead pedal. Steeda billet hood hinges (removed rod). One front-right Goodyear F1 Supercar radial at $290 (mounted, balanced, road hazard, tax).

No significant squeeks, rattles or bumps in the night. I had a buzz/rattle in the driver's inside door handle. They swapped it out and it's gone. Driver's side window washer nozzle leaks. Stripe job looks like hell. 3 have been changed and it still looks like hell. I'm having them painted soon.

1500 miles, 9 - 1/4 mile passes, wheel hop (bad with drag radials), flowmaster axle-backs, no real issues other than the wheel hop. I'd prefer a tighter shifter. Virtually NO more clutch chatter. LCA's and UCA next, then tune with CAI. I'll probably go with the hood lifts, as I HATE that prop rod.

I don't know, the prop rod kind of reminds me of my Ranchero a bit.

Then again, 45 years later you'd think they could do better on a car like this.

Mike.

185 miles. No squeeks rattles or wind noise even at 100 mph and up! Excellent fit and finish with the exception of the stripes. It has a surge until it's warmed up. So far that's it. Damn I love this car. Installed Magnaflow axle backs yesterday a bit more power and sounds great!

2500 miles. Computer says I'm getting 20.5 MPG but it's really a bit lower. Had a chirp that I guessed was an exhaust system hanger for about a week. Hit the rubber doughnuts on both sides with silicone spray. Chirp went away about a day later. Got mufflers enroute - using Flowmasters at $260 to my door. I'll go pricier later only if I need to. Got to make this boy sound more manly NOW, will tinker later. Definitley will do some suspension tightening next. Otherwise, no other changes contemplated.

I've had mine for a month, (had it ordered since Feb) put about 350 miles on it. The only complaint I have so far is the passanger side window molding leaks a little. The clutch makes a ''hissing'' sound at take off, dealership said thats normal??

Other than that I LOVE THIS CAR!!! And I'll be the first in line for the 2008 GT500KR!!!

500 miles....

complaints:

clutch chatter at takeoff (is getting better with time)

not enough traction to use all the horses.

Hard to get my daughter's car seat in and out of the back seat! :hysterical:

cars tend to swirve and lose control when near-by (they're too busy gawking at my car!)

Positive traits:

too numerous to mention.

life is good! :yup:

Clutch hiss is normal. Chatter is diminshing on mine, probably more to do with getting more repeatable at launching. But I still bone it up more than I'd like to.

500 miles on mine. Notice a slight ticking, especially when parked beside a wall such as a bank drive through. Anyone noticed this. Its probably normal. Other than that, fantastic ride.

Delivered on 8/15 and I have 1100 miles. Flowmaster Axlebacks only mod so far. Great driving car except for the wheel hop. I will fix that in the future. 14 mpg average. You sure get noticed when you drive this car. I've seen a lot of camera phones pointed at me.

Open the hood and listen carefully where it's coming from. I'll bet it's the fuel injectors chattering. Normal. When I was having my '04 Cobra checked for the dreaded 'head tick', the Ford mechanic explained that newer block castings are lighter and hence they shield less of the mechanical noise from the engine than did older engines. After listening carefully with him there, I was surprised how much stuff you could hear if you listen carefully. Been working on cars for decades, but always focused on the one noise I thought was a problem and tuned the rest out.

picked up 9/8 and have 600 miles on mine. clutch chatter is almost gone completely. most is probably due to the driver not feeling the timing yet. normal hissing (very suttle). wheel hop without t/c but not severe. considering frpp (borla) but still holding out to see if i can live with the factory exhaust in combo with the s/c whine. i think it is a slight bit quiet but i am hesitant to remove the factory exhaust. just anal i guess. shift throw is nice and smooth.

Are you going to baseline dyno? Hope so, then make one change at a time and let us know how much HP each step makes.

THanks,

Dave

Would love to hear a sound clip at some point.
