cjgt500
I've read elsewhere on this list that the process of of applying stripes has been a bottleneck in the build process since 90% of orders were coming with stripes. Do we have any indication that orders with stripe-delete are moved up in schedule? Is anyone with stripe-delete on their order been stuck in Material Hold for months? That would disprove that idea.. I have white with blue stripes on order but after seeing all the picts that people have posted, I've been considering blue with stripe-delete. When I placed my order in June, I just assumed the stripes would be painted on. I've learned otherwise from this list. I wonder about long term durability of the vinyl stripes anyway. The durability of the stripes isn't the issue. It's the cut and installation that sucks. No, "stripe delete" cars aren't moved up....they just naturally float to the top as the striped cars get bottlenecked over at Mazda. If you have an extra 3k to pay to have it painted, then get the delete option. It's not a "collectors" car for another 30 years. BTW, "material hold" doesn't mean they don't have or can't use the materials needed to build your car. It means they're not ready to build your car yet, so they don't need the materials....therefore they "hold" them until you car gets scheduled (then segmented/blended/bucked/etc.) So, don't beleive what you read when members say their cars aren't getting built because the "stuff" isn't available. It's the opposite. bj
