SWEDEMAN
I am really sorry to say this but the Berg Cap, as nice as it is, is being removed from my Shelby GT. The problem is the cap goes with nothing else on my car and clashes with everything else. The Razor wheel caps and the different Shelby snake on them. If they ever get a matching air bag cover and wheel caps I will buy it again, but for now...sorry to say but it's off the car-
chrisminx
i think you're only allowed one. I hope you don't damage it during removal.
TClark1976
Aww man, that's too bad! In your defense, not EVERY single thing that is available in SPP is for everyone. . . . . It really comes down to personal preference! I'm going to order one, going to hold onto it, make a decision if I want to put it on the car, or leave it off. . . . it was a movement, something we all did together here on Team Shelby and also on the old Shelby Auto forum. . . . . . I've got to have a piece of that! Whether it's on my SGT or not. Trevor
SWEDEMAN
"i think you're only allowed one. I hope you don't damage it during removal". It is already off, and not a scratch. If SAI ever produces anything else from the famous Berg I'll look again. EDITED:
08SGT1977
SWEDEMAN, You could get a matching console cover and matching headrests. I know they make matching hub caps for the stock wheels (which you don't have) and at least one other matching hub cap set that might work with your wheels. The Razor wheel caps are tiffany and all the SAI's wheel caps don't fit the Razor wheels. There is actually quite of few other SAI items that do match the "berg" snake cap...such as the arm and headrest, engine caps, stock wheels, fuse lid, etc. But I know you want a matching Razor cap. I think you pull it on the wish list....if not, I will. Do hang on to it....I haven't given up on creating a matching steering wheel.
AFBLUE
The answer is quite simple. Get rid of those oversized, heavy razors. You will improve your 1/4 mile times and won't have to remove the Shelby Snake SGT logo. I think people that have Tiffany snake logos are their SGTs are posers/wannabees :D just kidding you. ilmor
It's true the the S snake does not match anything else, but neither do the Powered by Ford emblems on the side...or the SHELBY letters on the back. To me, the S snake is special and belongs on the car, because it was created by this group and was blessed by Shelby Automobiles themselves and sold as a Shelby GT part by them. But, in the end result, it obviously depends on the preference of the Owner, what he or she wants to do with his or her car. I would like to see the S snake on the steering wheel hub as well. 08SGT1977
SWEDEMAN, You could get the Ford Racing gas cap with the tiffany cobra as it will match your CS Razor wheels. I forgot to mention earlier that you could get the S cobra dead pedal to match your BerbShelby gas cap. FWIW the 65 GT350 only had one snake on the horn and the 66 only had two, the horn and gas cap and both year models had ponies on the grill and dash. (not too different than today's standards if you put the BergShelby gas cap and one other snake option). The 67-70 Shelbys had tiffany cobras on the exterior and S cobras (edit - and AC cobras) on the inside trim. In all honesty, with all the available SPP and FRPP bling, the new generation models seem to have as many different emblems (snakes and horses included) as the original Shelby Mustangs. (Who am I to say though - this sounds like something my wife should be advising me on - those pants don't go with that tie!) You could always take all the logos off and go for the Bullitt / stealth look! Erich

However if the Berg design ever makes it back in wheels caps and an steering wheel air bag cap from SAI, I'd love to get them. Thanks. fatboy
if i were to get the berg gas cap i would want a berg style emblem on the grill, the centercaps, steering wheel cap to make it all match...but i like the mustang tri-bar emblem on the grill too much(b/c of its nastalgia) and its on the wheel centercaps and steering wheel. plus the windshield has a mustang on it too. I am months away from being reunited with my car but I have to agree with you on the pony on the grill and will probably keep the steering wheel pony to match. Other than that, I am snaking out the car!
backafter20
I love the way the berg snake looks, and how the rear emblem turned out, but I didn't buy one because it just didn't seem to fit the car. The tiffany snake is obviously for the 500, and it made sense to have a slightly different style for the SGT, but the snake was found no where else on the car. Granted, there are tons of accessories available to "snake out" your car, but I didn't feel like adding too much bling. (no criticism to those who do) Then I noticed the CS logo was already everywhere: underhood tag, door sills, dash plaque. So I added CS to the rear badge and wheel caps, and it all seems to flow together naturally. I'll add it to the steering wheel if they ever come out with one, but then I think I'll quit. Too much of a good thing, ya know? And ya gotta leave at least one pony on the car (grille). I mean, it is a Mustang, after all. I think the berg snake looks great, but I do know where swedeman is coming from.
ejrail
I couldn't wait to receive my gas cap cover. To me, the as delivered "GT" logo on the cap was okay but many lookers at shows and Cruise nights assumed I dressed up a black Mustang GT with silver stripes because of the logo on the cap. The Snake cap helps separate our SGTs from the wannabe Shelby clones. There is at least one black & silver 6 banger wannabe in my area! Even my wife said that guy has a lot of nerve when we parked near him at a strip mall. The Snake cap is a simple but effective way to show the guy behind you he was just passed by an honest to goodness Shelby, not a regular Mustang. As was stated above by Erich, it heralds back to the original GT-350 which it seems our cars are patterned after. Along with the hood scoop and fender badges from the original AC roadster, the Snake logo has a place on our cars. It is a logical addition to proudly show our car's heritage. I'm keeping mine on and shined up. Erik 07SGT2940

backafter20
Yes, good points ejrail. The berg cap is a controlled substance. I bought my CS cap over-the-counter, with no restrictions. Anyone could put one of them on their car and just ruin my uniqueness, so it's not as exclusive.

Don't worry when you get the upgraded brakes and are forced to go to the 20" Razors or whatever you will like them. I see you upgraded the hood already too! I love that hood still! Glad you are able to spend some of that tax free money since you made it back!
