' I didn't know they made those in green "

As I replied in another post, the car looks great. Love the legend lime color.

It' funny how on other mustang forums, the sky's the limit when it comes to Shelby inspired mods but it's taboo or sacrilegious to mod a mustang with Shelby parts to some around here.

I know that Shelby performance parts sells a lot of Shelby parts and Shelby "bling" because they know a lot of Mustang owners want to Shelby-ize their Mustangs. Otherwise, they wouldn't be selling many of the parts they sell.

I just thought I would point out the 180 degree contrast.

:stirpot:

Mustangs and Shelby's were meant to be modified, personalized, enjoyed, and most importantly, driven.

I'll say this...What a beautiful car! If the legend lime had been available on the GT 500, I would have one now. What kind of wheels are those? One of the much better styled wheels I've seen

They are Axis Shine 20 x 9 with 35mm offset. They were won in a drawing at the Stillen open house in April. Thanks page! :happy feet:

Mike, tastefully done my friend...

because you kept the snakes, logos, Gt500 script off of the car..

were you getting a different hood at some point?

Hi,

Thank you.

I was pretty far down the path on getting a Venom hood from Trufiber. Larry at Morgan Hill Auto body has done quite a few and has had as much as 8 to 10 hours of prep prior to painting. That was a little too much for me.

I got this hood of a TS member in San Ramon who has done his own Snake. Larry didn't charge me to prep, just paint.

After all I've forked out on mods, I finally get responsible. I am happy with the result.

Good job Michael, looks like you have run out of things to do, Time for another car?

Hey Rick,

Change your mind on Terligua yet?

Actually, I am thinking about adding to the fruit basket - Grabber orange GTC or GT 500. Got to get the kitchen remodeled first.

Very cool color...I bet it even looks better in person! Who painted your car if I may ask?

Ford painted everything but the hood and the bumper covers.

Morgan Hill Auto Body, Morgan Hill CA painted the hood, bumper cover and re-cleared the front fenders to blend in with the hood.

They spent a painstaking amount of time on the color match. The factory P1 (Legend Lime/Lime Gold) formula has 4 variants. No of them came close to my original paint.

it is funny, I took a lot guff for buying this color 2.5 years ago. When I brought it home, my wife said " is that the only color it comes in". Now I can hardly get a tank a gas without 10 minutes of conversation on the color and the car with someone. Everyone seems to have owned a Lime Gold 67 or 68. Between those 2 years, Ford sold 240,000 mustangs in this color.

Well, I think it is cool. I have only seen a couple of cars in that color so the shop that did your painting did a good job...I can't tell a difference in the parts that were painted and the rest of the car! :happy feet: I'd like to get my stripes painted on but I worry about finding a quality shop and on top of that, it's not the highest on my priority list right now.

Thanks. The color match is unbelieveable live. My stock bumpers were nowhere even close to the body from the factory. Larry and his painter spent 2 hours and at least 10 attempts perfecting the mix. I thought it looked good on their second try. They are perfectionists. Probably one of the finest body shops around.

Great things in life - a great wife, a great bartender and a great car painter!

On the subject of painted stripes, 3M makes several grades of vinyl above the OEM Ford grade. My stripes look painted with the exception of the edge. Got them from Graphics Express in Fla, exact factory GT500 dimensions in a higher quality material.
