shelbymotorsports
It was thirty years ago today that on July 13th 1978 Henry Ford II fired Lee Iacocca the father of the Mustang. Iacocca was also the guy who gave Carroll Shelby the green light to produce some Cobra prototypes using Ford engines. When Henry Ford II was asked why he was firing Iacocca all Ford II would say is "I just didn't like him". It didn't take long for bankrupt Chrysler to come courting Iacocca so in some sense Henry Ford II may be responsible for saving the Chrysler Corporation. And we all now know about that certain phone call Carroll received in 1982 from his ol' friend Lee Steve
