Contemplating selling my 07 GT/SC - mkt value

Well, due to the fact I never get to drive my Shelby GT/SC I am contemplating selling it. I bought it in May of 07, and it only has 2300 miles on it.

It is a white 5 speed, with factory (at shelby) installed Paxton SC. It also has the factory (shelby) lower grill and fog lights.

The only mods are better brake rotors, pads, and lines (installed by Brenspeed), and a Tune by brenspeed.

Otherwise it's perfect. No stripe issues etc. Garage kept, would include the cover (200 bucks), factory pads and rotors also.

Has anyone been watching these on ebay much etc (I could look for values, but not too many factory SC cars out there etc).

I don't want to take a huge hit, so I'm just wondering what it might go for, just looking for thoughts.

Thanks.

It's too bad you're selling it. Like most vehicles they were meant to be driven otherwise they just lose value even sitting in the garage. It will be tough to possibly even get your 40k out of it considering I'm seeing GT500's selling as low as 37k already. Granted the GT500 isn't made at Shelby, but none the less it is bringing the market down on all these sports cars. Good luck with the sale. If you're not in a hurry I bet someone might come along and snag it up. You may have the exact car that someone is wanting. You never know. :)

+1. The market for the Shelby car right now is a bottom less pit. Don't get me wrong here, I 100% love my Shelby GT, but it has no resale legs at all what so ever. The guys that paid $20K up for the GT500's and put minimum down are in a world of hurt because they can't sell them, and the gas prices don't help. Or the guys that have beautiful Shelby GT's that have modded the hell out of them are married to those cars for life. Ross and Adam both seem to be wealthy/rich so they really could care a less about the money they put into them, but the average Joe who bought these cars and then modded them are in deep do-do. They are in the same position as those sub-prime mortgage home-owners who are losing their homes due to the market colapse.

So unreal seeming, but so very true, pitiful and painful.

Well enough of the gloomly crap I am going to take a drive in my beautiful,Shelby GT and have some fun-

I tend to keep all of my cars for awhile. It's just not possible to drive and enjoy a new car for over a year and hope to get close to your money out of it. 40K would probably come real close to getting you into a brand new '08 SC...

I know what you're trying to say Swedeman except for one small point. The only reason one would be in deep do-do, as you say, is if one has visions of making money on their car and purchased with the intent of doing so. Hopefully most are smart enough to realize a Shelby GT (8,000 or so strong) will not be worth the purchase price for many many years if ever. If you bought the car to enjoy and keep you're fine. If you bought it for an investment and a year later put it on the market, well.....that dog won't hunt. Just saying

+1. You would be surprised, well not really because you post here very often, a lot of people REALLY thought these cars were going to be extremely strong on resale immediately and those are the people that are in deep do-do. I for one was not one of those as new cars never appreciate they just depreciate. However I was surprised at the free fall they took along with the GT500's!

I still say they are the nicest Shelby ever made, in my opinion.

We're in 100% agreement Swede. The real value in this car is in driving it. Still puts a smile on this face every time I crank it up :peelout:

GreenGiant,

Can you give me a little more information on your car? I purchased a new 07 at the end of May. My intention all along was to have a certified center (in the Tampa Bay area - that has been working on this with Shelby a year) install the Paxton. Two weeks ago these systems were pulled from sale dure to California stating they had made a mistake in the first place- no penalty to owners or Shelby on completed S/C SGT's. Will be sometime in 2009 before they might get certified. I would not have purchase in this cae and do not care for the upt top S/C systems for a number of reasons.

Does your SGT have any faults? Northern road chips; front valence scuffs, etc. and which brake system did you install? I may be interested in selling my #5501 to get the white SGT/SC car. Pics?

Sincerely,

Doug Nash

OK let me get this straight....You can not buy a new GT/SC anymore due to certification issues? If that is the case these are worth a ton! Well at least $39K, I think that is a ton!
