Tire Safety

Wow, thanks for the post. I took my 97 Cobra in this morning to have f/e aligned and shop would not do it, found what appears to be a belt separating. Tires have 9/32 tread and car does not get driven much, 34,000 miles. I left and went by tire dealer who came out and took one look and said "I'll have you a new tire on Monday". I was fully prepared to argue...thankfully, I didn't have to (Riken Raptor tire) BFG. :slapfight:

Thanks for posting. I had no idea the manufacture date was encoded on the tire and will check dates on all my tires. I wonder if this applies to motorcycle tires also. I usually wear out tires quickly as I accumulate a lot of miles quickly but knowing the mfg date will be helpful. More important on a bike than a car actually IMHO.
