Touch up paint for GT H gold stripes ???????

Recommended Posts

I don't know how well paint and vinyl would mix, if you are talking about touching up spots on the original stripes. If you had the stripes painted on . . . maybe you can find the place that did it and get the paint code?

Has anyone come up with a color match to the GT H Gold stripes. I have several very minor chips, etc and would like to know if anyone has a paint color code or mfg'er, etc. Tks, DCW

If you have Rock Chips in the Vinyl and just want to apply a dab of Paint to touch it up, just remember, when you DO have to replace the Stripe, you will have a Paint Dab Lump. But either way...................... Find a 1997/1998 Gold Mustang and check out the Color and find a 1999/2000 Sunburst Gold Mustang and check out that Color. one of those might be very very close and if so, just buy the Touch Up Paint for that Model.

Paint Codes and Font for GT-H

Dupont code for the gold paint: 409383

Lettering font information: Myriad bold italic 96 point

I have found this information in the past on this site, but I believe it to be incorrect. I have not found the so-called Dupont code useful, and the font information is just plain wrong. See this:

I'm not saying my information is definitive, but it works for me (:

Paint information is in this thread. I knew I had posted it. http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php/topic/79345-06h0050-painted-stripes/ Read post 10 through 14. Some day maybe I will create a blog like IHERTZ66 (Troy) did which would be a sole source for all the information.

I apologize if the information I posted was incorrect. I had copied it from the Forum a few years back for reference, but never tested it out. Obviously more research has gone into this since then.

No need to apologize. I think we all learn through our efforts and others. Enjoy the ride.

That's what these forums are for. We all learn, we all teach, we all share.
