08 SGT production numbers

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody,

As we could read on the Shelby website , there are 500 Vista blue coupes made for 2008'; so I suppose that this is correct. :shift:

Just asked myself if there's a possibility to find out, (with the Vin number or the CSM number) when a car is made and which one of

the 500 it is? Does anybody know if there is a sort of a listing from the 500 coupes existing at Shelbys? That would be interesting to know which one of the 500 I own? or has anybody more infos about that?

Thanks for your help!

Greetings from Luxembourg :shift:

Until the registry is complete, you should be able to contact SAI and to get that information. Somebody from SAI might chime in with better information. I too am very interested in the final numbers of Coupes, Convertibles, Automatic Transmissions, IUP options, etc. With all the combinations I might be able to say 1 of 1 at some point! :)

Where are you reading there are 500 Vista Blue coupes?

On 14 Nov 2007 there were 949 Vista Blue coupes (62%) and 582 Vista Blue convertibles (38%)

http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php...st&p=252360

Of the 116 Vista Blue 08 SGTs I personally collected info on (Sep 07 to Feb 08): 72 were coupes (62%) and 44 (38%) were convertibles.

No more than 1980 Vista Blue 08 SGTs were built (CSM #s 0220 to 2200). So based on the numbers above, you are looking at ~1220 Vista Blue coupes and ~750 Vista Blue convertibles max.

UPDATE: CSM # 0218 to 2200 are Vista Blue

These numbers seem much more accurate to me.

AFBlue - I'm wondering where you got the information on the 08 CSM#s as mine is #0235 and according to your information, mine would have been the 15th one built...I know it was sitting on the dealer's show room floor in October of 2007, and I'd love to get all of the dates like you have on her...

Thanks

Carl

True that, and last 100 were Barrett Jackson 2201?-2300? give or take a few.

Amy posted that first 219 were orange and 220 was lowest numbered blue one about a month ago.

UPDATE: Last Grabber Orange was 0217 and the lowest numbered blue one was 218

There have been several posts indicating that CSM number order does not necessarily track with VIN sequence or Ford production sequence. In other words, CSM numbers were assigned in the order that Shelby performed final assembly on the cars, which is not always in the order that Ford produced them.

The CSM number also does not correspond with the order they were built (edit- upfitted). My car, #1977, was still being built, while some of the Barret-Jacksons (in the 2000s) were already delivered and being driven by their new owners. The numbers were blocked off and reserved but not necessarily built in that order. Can't wait for the registry!

The Barrett Jackson cars arrived at SAI in late December. I got mine in late Feb. A handful were built in time to be presented to the Barrett Jackson folks at the Auction, the rest were completed afterwards.

The CSM range is 2201 - 2300.

There are still some at dealers in Phoenix, and SGT deals are smokin right now. Someone here please buy one so I'm not the only one (two) here at Team Shelby that has one (or two). You see, I need someone else to help confirm that black 'verts are the fastest. (It might take the addition of a Kenne Bell to make it happen. Soon I hope.)
