So, I am coming out of work today, and I walk into our parking structure we have. I walk upstairs, and over to my car, and of course, immediately notice this crap:

Wow. No note, nothing. I can tell exactly what did it too...someone had a duffel bag over their shoulder, and drug it across the side. I REALLY hope it wasn't someone I work with. This gouge goes all the way to metal on the door, and stretches from the front fender, all the way back to the rear quarter panel and ends at the wheel well. I am sick to my friggen stomach, I had just worked 20 hours of overtime this past week to pay for a bunch of mods I had planned, and instead I get to spend $500 chunk of it on my insurance deductible to get this fixed. Guess I will be calling GAS up to see if their body shop will take me...

At least if the person who had done it had left a note saying, "Hey I scratched your car I am sorry here is my phone number and name blah blah blah" I would honestly not have been mad, I would have just been bummed, but at least he person fessed up. It's crap like this that makes me REALLY pissed off. Honest people are few and far between now.

sorry to hear this, it makes me sick to know that folks do :censored: :censored: like this to either get even for something you did or said to them or because their Jealous of your car & how you talk about it at work. I don't know if I beleive a duffle bag would leave it's mark move up & over the door handle like that, to me that was intentional. Also it looks more like a key was used & someone kept applying pressure to it until it went deep & then lifted at the end. Check to see if there are security cameras in the parking lot & if there is see if you can view the tape...good luck & again sorry to have to see this :censored:

Before you panic too bad, take it by a good body shop.

That was intentional..probably kids or someone jealous of you.

If it's not through the clear coat, then can buff that out.

I had kids key Mclaren I had with clear coat...one good buffing and it was completely gone and then wouldn't take a dime.

Looks like someone keyed it.

+1000. Very few duffel bags would have enough metal, let alone "accidental" force, to put those kind of marks down the ENTIRE side of your car. I feel bad for you my friend. Have it buffed professionally first, then see how much of the damage will actually need to be repainted.

It's stunts like this that keep my Shelby from going even to the grocery store to get milk. I talked to a friend back home today who said one of our old buddies was angry with me because I won't let him drive my car, and went on to use other explatives to describe who I've become since I bought the car.....kinda funny, I don't remember a "salvation" experience happening at purchase. Nonetheless, these cars don't always bring the best out in others. :slapfight:

Nonetheless, it seems people are really happy and respect your ride, or get angry and jealous and do things like this.

I wish you the best in your repair efforts....if you find him/her/they, let me know and I will sick an IRS agent on them.

On closer inspection, it is definitely keyed, it is all the way through the clear coat and is so deep...it had to be intentional. Probably a piece of crap work release inmate that saw me coming and going from work and decided he wanted to screw up a Deputies' car.

You're a lot more forgiving than me. There's no way someone could've done than by rubbing against it with a duffel bag - unless there was a screwdriver sticking out of the bag - and they kept wondering "what is that awful sound" while walking next to your car.

I'd see if there is surveillance video in your parking lot. It won't fix your car, but it'd be nice to know if it's someone at your workplace.

I feel your pain & hope you get it fixed right...

Drove up to a NE city this week with the intent of taking the wife to lunch. I parked the GT500 on a city side street as carefully as possible and walked off. We were gone for about half an hour when it dawned on both of us there were simply too many skinheads, skate boarders, and homeless pan handlers milling about to ever enjoy a lunch. We promtly returned and headed home, with the intent of returning in the Nissan sometime in the near future.

I know this is in hindsight - and I'm not sure about Cali insurance laws, but you might look into lowering your comprehensive deductible to $100 or even $0. It may not effect your premium that much. In the eastern states I've lived in - it's the collision coverage where the deductible plays a huge role in the premium. For comprehensive - not so much.

Keyed for sure, and why I refuse to drive mine if I have to park it out of sight! Sorry and good luck getting the fixed!

I park mine right outside my office and still find myself watching people who leave with even close to a bad attitude. It amazes me sometimes what people will do. Hope you get things repaired without too much hassle.

Oh OUCH! :censored: If I ever found out who did that, I would introduce them to the bottom side of the car.

You sure that wasn't intentional?

Looks like it, and I'm sure it was.

Another guy posted over a year ago on hear where he parked way out in a parking lot away from everyone with not one car in site. To come out and find his antenea was broken off and car was keyed.

I myself has even gotten a few middle fingers while cruzin down the freeway from a few import drivers as they passed.

These incidents are from pure ignorance and jealousy, which is a bunch of :censored:

CR, I'm sorry that happened to you.

Thanks for the kind words all, it is true that I take risk using this as my daily driver, but in a perfect world those risks should only stem from accidental damage...not intentional. It is very sickening to me to know that more than likely at this point it was a coworker that did it. I know when I came onto this job I took an oath that mentioned upholding the law...it is very sad to know that someone who took that same oath just committed felony vandalism to my car.

Everyone at work is pissed now, they know that is my baby, and hopefully whoever did it brags to the wrong person or says the wrong thing and it gets overheard and passed through the grapevine, as it surely will. When it does, I plan on not only having that person's job, but the money it takes to fix this, and probably some jail time for them judging that it IS a felony what was done, as the damage is over $400.

A couple of Deputies from Men's Central Jail came over and took a written report and photographed the damage. They are emailing me the report and pictures for my insurance, and tomorrow the hunt begins for a good body shop. I think GAS is going to be the ones doing it though, I did buy my car from Galpin so maybe they will cut me a break and take pity on a fellow Mustang owner as they all own them as well.

I fully intend on checking into how much my payments would go up with lowering my deductible. If it is reasonable I will take the suggestions of lowering it to $100 or $0.

This is really eating at me :( I had been excited that pay day was coming on the 30th with all that overtime on it for my 2.6"/idler combo, LCA/UCAs, and more....yet I was robbed of it.... :banghead:

CR, really sorry to see/hear that this kind of crap happened to you, especally in your line of work. Are trustrees allowed in the secured parking area? Most PD lots are secured ones with access only to authorized personnel, and I'm just apalled that a fellow LEO would do this to your car, which is why I'm asking if trustrees are allowed access to it. Perhaps the MCJ sent a work detail over to clean the garage; is that possible?

With respect to the body shop that GAS uses, they are outstanding. I recommend that you ask Steve McCord or Bert B. to call the body shop manager on your behalf, and I'm fairly certain that you will be given a DEEP discount on the labor and materials to get your car back to pristine condition. One thing though, I can't tell how deep some of the scratches are, but if any of them are below the primer, please get the car into the shop as soon as possible in order to prevent our coastal air from rusting the exposed areas.
