Kenne Bell 725hp S/C Information--VERY IMPORTANT!!

Recommended Posts

Hi all!!!!!!

Please read this bulletin from Ken at Kenne Bell. This concerns the 4 bolts that hold the front pulley onto the drive unit.

Now, before anybody asks, I gave Ken EVERYBODY'S information and addresses that we have already installed the 725 kit. Ken is already in the process of mailing each and every customer the new ring and new bolts and they should be arriving soon.

Now, if you do not recieve the updated kit and you want to drive the vehicle before they arrive, you still can. But, you will need to do this first. Remove 1 bolt at a time!!!!! Add a little bit of BLUE Loc Tite and reinstall. The bolts need to be torqued at 150 INCH pounds (NOT 150 FOOT pounds)

Please read the TSB below and if you have any questions, please email Ken (email addy is provided) or you can email me at Budm@shelbyautos.com

Thank you,

Bud

Please read below.........................................

Kenne Bell has the following important announcement to make regarding pulley bolts for all Shelby Super Snake and Shelby GT500 badged kits sold prior to 06/24/08:

TSB 1.02

-------------

Shelby GT500 and Super Snake kits shipped prior to 06/24/08 with black anodized engraved aluminum supercharger pulleys ordered through Shelby Automobiles may exhibit some loosening of the 4 m6 Socket Head Cap Screws (SHCS). The problem was discovered after changing from the original plated steel pulleys to anodized aluminum. The aluminum does not hold the same torque value over time as steel does, thereby heat and cold cycling and mechanical stress can cause the pulley bolts to loosen. ONLY cars equipped with black anodized engraved pulleys may exhibit the problem. There is no need to do anything with the steel plated pulleys. If your pulley is black and either has “SHELBY SUPER SNAKE” or “SHELBY GT500” engraved into the pulley, then you need to replace the bolts and add the plate. If your pulley is silver (plated steel), then you do not need the new bolts or plate.

THE SOLUTION

-----------------------

We have designed a stainless steel plate to install on the face of the pulley, between the SHCS (new ones supplied) and pulley. The installation of the plate is very simple. Follow our instructions on how to install it on the next two pages. There is no charge for the new parts or shipping (ground FedEx). All kits being installed as of 06/24/08 will have the new plates installed so there is nothing for the customer to do at that point. All existing customers that do not have plates installed will be mailed the parts free of charge. It only takes a few minutes to install the parts. If you do not receive your new parts within the next two weeks, you may email us at kennebell@kennebell.net or call (909) 941-6646 Mon-Fri 8am - 5pm PST, or fax us at (909) 944-4883.

IMPORTANT: Remember, ONLY if your pulley is black and either has “SHELBY SUPER SNAKE” or “SHELBY GT500” engraved into the pulley, then you need to replace the bolts and add the plate. If your pulley is silver (plated steel), then you do not need the new bolts or plate.

Thank You,

Hi Bud

My car is still sitting in Long Beach docks waiting to be shipped to England

So if you fancy a day out at the docks you can change over the bolts :hysterical::hysterical:
