blueshawk
I bought a '70 Chevelle SS 396 and several years later the first gas crisis kill the muscle cars. Now I buy the SGT and the same thing seems to be happening again. Maybe my Karma is personally responsible for this mess! :P Maybe Chevy won't produce the Camaro now or the Callenger may have seen it's last year. What is the future of muscle cars if govenment is going to sharply regulate the industry? Maybe our SGT's will be worth more in the long run?? Ford has direct injection and dual turbos in the wings. Cars may not be 426 cid but I think there will always be a demand for fast cars that handle. SGT2666
I'm looking for a Hydrogen fuel cell that will use my existing motor mounts and bolt up to my transmission

Back then, losing horse power was just about the only option for car makers needing to improve fuel efficiency. Now we have a lot more commercially viable products that should be able to produce decent hp with fewer cylinders. I doubt we'll see a hybrid or electric muscle car anytime soon and I certainly don't think we'll start seeing muscle cars running on bio-diesel but stuff like direct injection and turbos coming striaght out of the factory should keep the gas powered muscle car alive for the foreseeable future. INDYSHELBY
Do US car makers have the resouces to build cars with power? I hope they continue but the pressure is on for better fuel mileage and that will take cash and enginerering resouces.
SGT/SC2873
don't know if our SGT's and/or 500's will be worth more or worst case scenerio....less. I know one thing..if gas keeps going up I am in the market for a Shelby MPD (moped) Amy, any plans for the MPD? I'll take a white one with Silver Lemans stripes! And of course, let's super charge it! ilmor
There may still be fast and quick cars, but I don't think they should be called Muscle Cars unless they are American coupes / verts and have V8 power!!!

SGT2666
I think we're going to see rocket fast electrics, I'm going to miss those V8 sound effects though.

They'll put speakers on the back with user selectable V8 sounds! I can see the cars on the showroom floor with one of those "Push Here!" buttons "...to hear real V8 Sound Effects!" Like the ones you see on kid's toys today.
ilmor
Just think...100 years ago there were guys like us who were all bummed out about losing horses and steam engines as their preferred modes of transportation....
