venom
I'm going to be replacing the stock exhaust with an Offroad-X and 3" Catback. Can't find mil eliminators (02 Simulators) anywhere so I'm looking into buying a tuner which should include custom tunes sent by email right? I see that the SCT EXCAL 3 goes for about 379 on the net. If I buy from a Mustang tuner, will they include emailing custom tunes with the purchase or do I have to buy those separately? It'd be nice to gain some rear wheel HP, make it run better and turn off the rear 02s at the same time!

People are usually selling their tuners for a nice discount after they tune their cars. After that you can work with different companies to have them email you tunes for your tuner/car. I got mine through JLT.

venom
Depending on the tuner - high $300's new Would that come with the aftermarket "custom" tunes and does anyone have a custom tune for just an offroad-X and catback?

I guess I should have posted this in the MODS forum. Sorry. More questions as I'm very confused. If I have to buy a tuner to turn the rear 02s off, will the tuner come with custom tunes just for my offroad-x and Catback, or are those tunes specific to cars that have modified exhausts + CAI? For what it's worth. Be cautious when announcing to everyone on the web that you have removed the factory cats for street use. I have read articles about the Fed's and some States or local municipalities that will impound your vehicle and levy heavy fines against the car owner and the shop that removed or promoted the removal of the cats. Justin00Stang
check out the mods section. People are usually selling their tuners for a nice discount after they tune their cars. And if they still have the tune on their car, that tuner is "locked" and useless until you pay SCT $150 to unlock it. When aftermarket tuning is installed on a vehicle the tuner is locked to that vehicle, and can not be used on another vehicle (be it an SCT, Diablo, or Superchips tuner). If you buy a used tuner that is without tunes for your car, locked, broken, or out of warranty you can end up spending more than if you had bought a new tuner with full warranty and full support. Little things do tend to go wrong with the aftermarket tuners, which is why I double the factory warranty on any one that I sell (to the original purchaser), and swap the bad unit out with an in-stock unit if there is a problem. Total Urban Myth. No one can just impound a car based on a post w/o probable cause and sometype of investigation. And authorities have real crimes to keep them really busy. The CAT police work at the ASPCA.
