SC belt gone

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had this problem? I was driving to the store and back, not getting on it, when I noticed rubber hitting my windshield. That was followed by a loud slapping noise. Pulled over, and my SC belt was tore to pieces. I hope it is a simple fix, and not something out of alignment. It just got picked up and sent to the shop. I will contact shelby about the problem. They are also goiing to fix my muffler tips to straighten them out. Keep you posted.

I remember some of the SGTs had this problem, but I havent heard of the SS doing this. I have only put around 900 miles on it since the SS coversion.

No problem like that here, although my SC belt does chirp on it's pulley whenever I dump the clutch pedal during an upshift or downshift.

I was told ford is doing a recall on TVS ford racing SC that were in my run of SC. Bad news. On the bright side, Ford is standing behind the warrenty and replacing it.

Which batch are these? How will we know if ours on our SS needs to be changed....Thanks

Sorry to here about the problem, but it's a great sign that Ford is stepping up and fixing the problem. I have loads of faith in Ford, but you never know.

Guys,

There is no recall on the blowers. There may have been a couple that were making some noise and only one that I know of actually had a real problem. And yes, it is being addressed now between Ford and us (SAI). I would not panick on this!!!! Out of all the units we put on (I would say somewhere around 100 or more) we have found 2-3 that were a bit noisy (which were changed before they left) and one that became noisy and caused a problem after the vehicle left. I have not heard from anybody else out there who has this unit installed and is having any problems.

So, would I say that there is a huge problem out there? NO Have we checked the ones here for any possible future problems? YES And yes, I have forwarded ALL of the serial numbers to Ford so they can check on their end too.

I would not worry about it. As for Cooper's car, if it was noisy before it left, it would never have left. He and myself have been working on his concerns and they are being addressed properly and in a timely fashion.

But Bud, my SC gets really noisy anytime I floor the thottle pedal. It sounds like the Tasmanian Devil is spining under my hood; is that normal? :hysterical::hysterical:

Bud and SAI have been nothing but outstanding on this issue. As for the recall, the dealer said ford is going to recall that batch of TVS SC. If this is true or not, it was what I was being told. FYI, my SC never made any unusual noise. Thanks Bud for all your help, you guys are a class act.

New S/C being installed today, will be back on the road Thursday. I guess I just got one bad unit. The car was perfect up until the belt let loose. I was just crusin when it let go. The car is beyond words. Bud and SAI are just incredible to work with, no hassle at all. The only two things wrong with the SS in general are (minor) the head rest covers, and (big) the rear wheels need to be much wider like 11". Bad traction issue. But the wheels are stunning. Thanks again Bud and SAI, Im glad my car went all the way to Vegas.
