Stock Boost Pressure

I'm in the desert at 2800 msl. 7 is about all I can get on a good day.

07 is right, it's all down to temp, humidity and altitude. Along with gas, a/c, TCS, it all makes a difference.

Does anyone know what the stock boost pressure should be at WOT? I have about 2300 miles on a 2008 GT500 and at WOT it seems to putting out about 7psi? is this a normal boost. The car seemed sluggish today with the temp around 92????

rbrodder,

I have seen a couple of stock cars that registered only 7psi and also dyno'd at only 415'ish. The culprit turned out to be the by-pass valve was not fully closing off during full boost conditions.

Just something to check off the list............

Thanks for the replies. I think it must have been a combo of a few factors including, heat of the day, only finding 91 octane and not sure if the humidity in St.Louis has anything involved but it has 93 octane back in it and all seems fine? I am looking forward to some upgrades when the banker allows it

Depends if you're going forward or reverse? :tease:

Doesn't Reverse give you like 15psi for boost? :hysterical:

Average daily temps in Columbus, Ohio around 75-85 and 50-70% humidity. I am running stock at about 8-8.5 psi WOT. For stock cars, 90 degree days are the enemy of this car. I run around 7.5-8psi when temps reach in the 90's. The highest boost I have attained is 9.5-10 psi low humidity and around 50 degrees.

FRPP CAI is inevitable for me...

I seem to be one of these, 7 is the max I have seen on mine. Is there an easy way to check or test the by-pass valve myself, I always try to avoid the dealer.

On a 70 degree day, WOT on the 5 FWY enterance near my apartment I see about 9lbs. With temps in the triple digits now and humidity being high lately, the car feels sluggish and my boost is limited to about 7lbs. CAI is already sitting my my apartment waiting to be put on, and I am still waiting for a writeup on the Killer Chiller that Farmdoggy installed.
