Jolly Roger
I'll believe it when I see my car. Built 4 weeks ago now. Released from plant over 3 weeks ago. My dealer is 3 hours away from Dearborn by truck. Thanks for the post, but there's too much contradictory information out there right now, and the only thing I know for SURE is I'm still waiting.... robertlane
Now everyone should be aware that putting on the stripes has been a lengthly process, but this is not the same as a stop sale order.
burnedgt500
Robert My car was released from Forgien productions plant 2 and half weeks ago then the next day went to Rel from plant. It was due at the dealer the 24th and it is sept 2nd and still no car.I was standing right there when the dealer called the Ford Rep and she told him they were on "hold". I heard the conversation. Why in the world would she say that if she had not been told that? I beleive what you posted about Ford telling you there was no stop shippment but no one can figure this one out. They still have not even shipped my car yet. I went by the rail yard and gave them my VIN# on the 30th and they tried to pull it up and it's still not in there system. They told me as soon as it gets loaded it show up in there system and it still was not there. Oh well thank you for all of you help and keeping the stangsunleashed board of directors the most informed people on the GT500. I think It should be mandatory on the next Shelby for Ford to requier there sells people to be more educated about the car before they are allowed one. tlitz
I do not understand at ALL what Ford is doing with the Shelby GT 500. My car was ordered 3/14/06 I still have not received my Vin. yet. I have been on material hold for almost 6 months???? The dealership that I have ordered from has been helpful but still on material hold, and yes I have taken off the 1000 shaker radio months ago, and yes I have contacted Ford consumer, and yes it is a convertible. I would like some answer on when will my car be off material hold?? Ford must know the allocation for these cars, which cars are going to which dealers and when? I gave my dealer money to order this car three years ago when Ford and Shelby shook hands. I new it would be a matter of time before Shelby made his Mustang again. The dealer has $15,000.00 dollars of mine as a down payment. This is getting more frustrating for me as everyday goes by being on there MATERIAL HOLD. Some answer would be GREAT! The rail Yard says it has still not even been loaded yet and Ford customer sevice says ETA of 8/31. No one even knows where it it is. I do have a T88 with all 3 options on it way. My dealer even told me that when it shows in there inventory that they must start paying interest on it. I was standing there last Thrusday when they called the regional Ford rep. and she told us that there was a stop shippment. All of the information I can find out just leads me in circles and it makes no sense at all. please help!!!!!!

KingCobra
My Torch Red coupe with Performance White stripes, standard interior upgrade (Canadian) charcoal/crimson interior and Shaker 500 audio system was built on June 30th, 65 days ago, and has still ( to my knowledge ) not been shipped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The last I was told by Ford of Canada was that it was being held for government testing??? It makes no sense to me, bumpers are standard S197, emitions testing was done long before production began. What else is there??? I'm going crazy!!! I've been so dicouraged that I even lost my Shelby Mojo for posting!!!!!!! What ever you could dig up whould be greatly appreciated Robert. KingCobra. StangFinally
Hi all.. first I just want to thank everyone for their posts... the information has been terrific and kept me patient while waiting. I purchased my basic coupe, back when they were talking about the GT500 being offered. I was 3rd at my local dealer and in March my order was released to Ford... black with the tungsten stripes. I have the VIN # and it was built Aug 5th, and according to my dealer, shipped with an estimated arrival (here in Canada) of Aug 15th. Well here it is, Sept 4th and no car!! After many calls and missed dates, like others have posted, I have been told that shipping has been put on hold for all GT500's. I was told that there is a modification that must be done on the exhaust system?? no other details but the belief was that it has to do with emissions and effected all cars, not just those bound for Canada...I was also told that since my car was built back on the 5th that is was blocked in and that they were making the mod as they get to the cars. The new estimate for delivery is now Sept.12th!! What I find most frustrating is the lack of information.... I understand that for Canada anyway, that they use enclosed carriers that specialize in high end cars for making the delivery, this prevents them from tracking the cars the normal way. I was also told that they are totally covered and finding a specific car in the shipping yard is very difficult... Has anyone in Canada, Ontario taken delivery? if so, was the car specially shipped? totally covered? My dealer has received one Shelby so far, a blue Convertible, but it was already PDI'd when I saw it. My salesguy has become a friend of mine over the years and I trust him and believe that he can't get any information either. Any information on these delays would be greatley appreciated. My other question is if this will result in a recall of cars already shipped? One last thought... At Bristol Speedway last week they had a Z06 vette on a dyno and showed 468rwh...with an advertized 505 hp... shouldn't the Shelby be at least close to this, if not higher? Thanks. atlanticbluestang
I just recieved this e-mail from my dealer today: "There is a stop shipment on Shelby Mustangs. There are currently 469 units at the plant that are being quality inspected. The Order Processing Center does not know what the quality issue(s) is(are), but as the units pass inspection, they are being shipped. I will call every day to check on yours. Sorry about the delay." I had a delivery date of August 31, 2006. Now I have no idea when it will be delivered.
