Right Hand Drive Super Snake's and GT 40's

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

The first part to this post is slightly off topic, but thought y'all would have some interest.

Craig Dean the owner of Mustang Motorsport, http://www.mustangmotorsport.com.au has recently completed the worlds first Right Hand Drive GT 40.

He has posted on you tube this video, which shows him cruising around the melbourne hills in one

of his GT 40's, then some of the conversion details for the Mustang's in the shop, and finally the

Right Hand Drive GT 40. Pretty good.

Update on the Aussie Super Snakes, arriving in port "Tomorrow" !!!! :happy feet: :happy feet:

We need a few days to get through customs etc.

Craig and i are hoping to take both the cars to the track next weekend along with some local

Mustang enthusiast's, The cars obviously wont be converted, but we will take plenty of photos and

videos and post them up.

Cheers guys.

The Australian Super Snakes have landed.

I am just uploading video to you tube now will post the link soon.

Both cars arrived in 99% perfect condition. My car has a slight damage to the carbon fibre front valance skirt, needs to

be replaced.... Bugger!!! but....

After carefully unpacking the cars, we took mine for a quick drive around the block... AWESOME...

leaves every other mustang ive driven for dead...actually leaves every car ive driven for dead.

The cars are pretty dirty after their trip, we will tidy them up and take them to the V8 Supercar championship

this weekend.

Craig is hoping to get the cars on the track, in front of the home crowd...100k plus australian fans in one day !!!

Its going to be fun...

Photos and videos to come... :happy feet: :happy feet:

Hi Amanda,

I dont know about the insurance, im sure we will work something out.

At the end of the day, they arrived pretty safely.

Videos coming.... really cool stuff.

Many thanks to my friend Justin Thomson for being the camera man today.

I tell you one thing though Amanda, Craig has got a huge pile of GT500's to convert at the moment, i counted

8, plus two GT40's going through conversion !!!!!!

Guess im going t have to be patient.

But at least we get to the track this weekend.

Speak later

Jason.

This whole thread is a great story. Great pics... I'll be checking out the video later when I get my laptop some more power. Maybe I should have SS'd it.

Are you allowed to drive on your highways with left-hand drive? I'm seeing more and more RHD cars in calgary over the last couple of years, not sure why. I'm starting to think it's just because it's cool - all the "yutes" (think Joe Pesci) wanting something different.

Good luck on the conversion!

Not really. We put dealer plates on it so we can claim only testing the vehicle....and test we did haha.

Why is it that everyone that drives the SS "giggles" the first time

Its embarrassing i know, but then again driving that car for the first time i felt like a little girl, hahaha. Its a powerful

beast, i mean seriously powerful. I honestly have to learn to drive again.

It doesnt help for me the controls being on the wrong side (ie your side, left haha).

Cheers all more photos and videos to come afte the track.

Wow,

I put about 100 miles on the car today, got a feel for it now.

It took me a little while to learn how to tame the beast, and then occasionally let her rip with some

moderate levels of control.

Fantastic.

Im driving the car with a restricted permit (ie just between my home and the home of Mustang in Australia,

Mustang Motorsport, registration offices, and testing centres... so far ive visited all three today...!!!!!!)

I will have to hand the car back to Craig to do the conversion probably next week, but will know more

after the V8 Supercars championship tommorrow.

Will post some pictures soon.

Cheers.

I dont know if Y'all can see but in the back ground of Craig's super snake you can make out some flashing red and blue lights of one of the local coppers hahah....

Yep we got nabbed on the way to the racetrack, actually one of the GT40's sitting behind the super snake...

We got let off with a warning... but the lady officer was not happy with us....sorry

Its good to see you have gotten the Snakes home. I'm sure you are happy with the 725HP package it is really the only way to go. I have tracked mine at Sebring and have some heating issues, once I get it figured out I'll let you know the fix if you decide to track the car. Take your time getting to know the car it is truly a handful. They both really look great. Red and black, white and black its hard not to look at them. Enjoy your Snake Jason.
