Thanks...That's cool...any chance of getting an emblem like that for the steering wheel too??? Or am I pushing it? LOL

I don't think you are pushing it but I was waiting to get the Gas cap emblem in my hands first....

I am patiently waiting for the CS emblem.

Do you know that there will be a CS emblem for the steering wheel?

Not 100% but there is talk of it. I'm still hoping.

I want a matching steering wheel cap but I still suspect this will never happen given the airbag there and no one wants to touch these, in ANY way, for fear of a lawsuit later by some over zealous lawyer.

How about a simple overlay like this wheel hubcap metallic decal that would look good but not cause any problems with the airbag deployment? Saleen makes a replacement steering wheel cap but it involves removing the existing one. I think an overlay would be simpler and certainly easier. It can be done.

"WHEEL CENTER DECAL 1-3/4" DIA. 69/70 SHELBY

Vintage 1969-1970 Shelby Decal.

Most commonly used as a wheel center decal, this self-adhesive black and silver decal can be used anywhere.

Dimensions: 1-3/4" diameter."

Hey, I'm with you! It can be done but I've seen no interest in doing it. I suggested a complete set when the cap was approved over on the old forum. Once it was done it seemed a no brainer to me to create a complete set and sell it that way. Gas cap, wheel caps, and steering wheel cover, with a new grill emblem. Didn't happen. :-(

On the wheel caps, I'm not sure they are necessary as you can already get that same Shelby Snake with or with out the Shelby lettering. I'm thinking of getting the gas cap and Shelby Snake wheel caps (without red lettering). I'm for the steering wheel overlay too.

Does anyone know...how many, and where, were the snakes on the 65 - 66 Shelby Mustangs?

I am looking at a few pictures of a 1966 GT350. I can see two (2) cobra emblems. The old style frontal (red, white, and blue) Cobra head. One on the gas cap and one on the steering wheel center cap. The wheel centers are the "CS" emblem. Interestingly the gas cap and steering wheel cap say "Cobra" not Shelby.

Gentlemen,

The 1965 Shelby GT350 Mustang had only one Cobra logo on the entire car. It was on the center hub of the wood rimmed steering wheel. There were no Cobra logos on the exterior of the car at all and the car used the standard Mustang rear gas cap cover.

The 1966 Shelby GT350 Mustang had as many as seven Cobra logos on the car. One on the center hub of the now fake wood plastic rimmed steering wheel, one on the gas cap cover, one at the bottom of the dash mounted tachometer, and, if the optional 14 inch Magnum 500 wheels were ordered, one on each center cap of the Magnum wheels.

As the Shelby GT is a modern-day copy of the 1966 GT350 it would seem entirely appropriate to use the Shelby Performance Parts "Shelby GT" wheel center caps with the Cobras on them as well as the Shelby GT faux gas cap with the Cobra on it. JMO

Yeah, I don't know why I didn't just check Ebay to answer my own question. I see what you mean. They also have the tri-bar pony on the front grille like the SGT.

I guess I'm slow, but w/ berg's post I just realized that the old gt350 snake / emblem has red, white and blue colors like the tri-bar pony.
